Food was good, service was questionable
by rcttexas
Great food and margaritas. Fun place to eat. Service was poor, but I strongly belive it was just our waiter. He was a bit rude and spoke poor english. All the other waiters were moving quickly. I would defenetly try it again, providing we had a different waiter. Since it was out first time, the location was hard to get to.
- Pros: Food, Ambience, Margaritas
- Cons: Location, Parking

Uncle Julio?s is a chain of restaurants and you can tell in their food and service. WAY too over priced for the amount of food you get. We were seated outside on the patio and could not hear our conversation with Camp Bowie Blvd as your backdrop. My wife ordered the cheese enchiladas thinking she was safe, she is a vegetarian, and received her food with beef in the red sauce- yuk! Vegetarians beware! Our server was very slow and abandoned our table after we got our food. If you want Mexican please go to Joe T.'s much better and well worth the wait!
- Pros: plenty of parking
- Cons: food, service, price tag
Cream sauce ingredient's of dubious orgins
by smokem
All of the cooks frequent the Greek man's bath house down the street and wear rainbow flags on their uniforms. Stay away from anything that has a cream sauce on it. Know what I mean? The men's bathrooms have gloryhole's that go into the kitchen. I think they utilize them to get the ingredients for that cream sauce. Know what I mean? They all smoke clove cigarette's and hum "Hold Me Closer Tiny Dancer" while they cook. One of the cook's died not long ago and they had him buried with his bum sticking out of the ground. His friends wanted to stop by for a cold one. Know what I mean?
Unbelievable Taste!
by liggetts_lady
Growing up in Arizona closer to the border of Mexico, I have been fortunate to taste some of the best Mexican food on earth. I have tried over thirty (30) Mexican Restaurant's in the Dallas area. So far Uncle Julio's is the best in town. As far as fresh goes, you will never find wilted lettuce or mushy tomatoes. Always fresh veggies and meats. If chicken enchiladas are your favorite, you love their sour cream sauce. The sauce is very tasty, creamy not watery and never taste like powdered cheese. Same for the chili con queso, Oh my! It is the best. The portions are enough to feed a herd of cattle, so bring an appetite or a few friends. Service is always top notch, not like other experiences I have had. Prompt greeting, quick drinks, hot food instead of warm or cold. Ask any question about the menu, the servers have tasted everything. Including the frog legs. I have not had those, sorry can't stomach that one. I hear they are very tasty. I recommend the Cadillac platter or the Juarez.
- Pros: Parking, Atmosphere, Variety, Taste, Service
Best taste in all foods in Metro
by vickie51
My ex-husband and I love the food as well as the service in both locations. We still visit for the food and it's so romanic. Try it for yourself and see!!!
- Pros: lots of parking, quick seating, romanic, nice and clean
- Cons: need more than two locations in metro, need service in Arlington? Grand Prairie ?!
Festive atmosphere and Mexican fare make this casual chain a favorite for families and young professionals.

In Short
The bright, spacious room is all greens, reds and yellows, with painted terra-cotta walls covered with an assortment of tchotchkes. The menu features plates of chicken tamales, enchiladas with sour cream sauce, and jumbo shrp stuffed with Jack cheese and jalapenos, wrapped in bacon and grilled. Desserts include the cajeta: a large ball of vanilla ice cream rolled in toasted coconut and pecans.

Some of the Best Mexican food in all of the Southwest, with nightly specials this place is good for every day of the week. The fajitas are by far the best I have ever had, and are only better when paired with the lobster. Truely a Cowtown favorite you can see Downtown sophisticates as well as Stockyard cowboys. Legendary.
- Pros: Good food, Great Food, Good Service

Uncle Julio's food is not only great tasting, there is plenty of it. It really is a great value. Their beef fajitas are my personal favorite, but when I really want to splurge, its the Cadillac Platter that I order. Who would have thought a Mexican restaurant would have such great lobster? I recommend Uncle Julio's to everyone I meet and have never heard anything bad about the food!
- Pros: Great food, Great price, Great Service
- Cons: Always crowded, Bad Parking in FW
