Best Salon and Spa
by happybwn at Citysearch
I had the pleasure of experiencing Burt Grant Salon and Spa. I have been to several spa locations and this was the best experience yet. I will definitely recommend Tom and Raquel to all of my co workers and friends. The front desk personnel is outstanding! They made me feel very welcomed! I am looking forward to my next visit.
- Pros: Very inviting!
- Cons: Parking is minimal
Never again

I used to be regular at this salon when my old colorist was still there. She moved repeatedly and after a couple of years we lost touch. Thinking how great Burt Grant was, I decided to just find a new colorist there, since my prior experiences were all wonderful. I was booked with a girl named Brittany, and she was awful. She had an attitude to begin with, and she turned my hair bozo orange, when all I needed was for her to do a root touch up to make it blonde. While I was crying in her chair after seeing what she did, she just said the color was "pretty" and didn't even try to fix it. She told me if i was still unhappy in a week, to come back and she would tone it. WTF? I told her I would go somewhere else to get it fixed, as I was not living for even one day with orange hair. AWFUL EXPERIENCE AND I WILL NEVER RETURN.
- Cons: Horrible service/color
Only for Up-do's
by KathyEE at Citysearch
The salon is in an neat, but old house. Tudor, perhaps? I've tried the salon several times - waxing, haircut, color, and makeup for an event. Besides one stylist who does awesome updo's, I'm not impressed. I'll start with the stylist, whose name I'll add another time as I can't recall it at this moment. My daughter has been to her for several up-do's. A few times we've had to try other stylist because our favorite was not available. Turns out, she has a full time job with a major airline company and works as a stylist part time. She ALWAYS creates what my daughter requests. We always have our hair done late morning, and the up-do will last all thru late night without a problem! Other stylists (this salon and elsewhere) up-do's have never made to the event before starting to fall apart! Besides our favorite stylist for up-dos, I"m not impressed with the salon. The stylist I've tried, I never like their haircuts. But, even more frustrating is the house itself. It is quite cramp trying to make room for enough stylist stations. When I had my hair colored, I was asked to sit in a chair over by a window... which was very uncomfortable with the airconditioning from the floor vent blowing on me. And I was cramped in between 2 stations working on clients. I could tell there was no where else to sit, while my stylist squeezed in another appointment in her chair while my color took. The wax jobs at the sink are uncomfortable -- people walking right by my head and feet, watching it all going on (I feel waxing is a little personnal), and the lighting in the salon is dim, which makes me question the ability to correctly color my hair. Cramp and dim settings, except the reception and if your lucky to get a cut in the back house. I don't recommend this place, even though I see some stylish women leaving the place. I think even if it is my bad luck to get the bottom stylist, I don't like the setting as a salon.
- Pros: One stylist does the Best up-do's that last forever
- Cons: The building
Bad wax experience

The salon seemed nice and I made an appointment to get an eyebrow and lip wax. I was scheduled with one person and then I when I got there they had changed me to someone else, which I really didn't like. Then when the girl came to get me she took me to the shampoo station and told me to lay down there in the sink where you wash hair. So there I am in the open with guys and people walking around while I am getting my lip waxed, it was a horrible feeling. I will definitely not go back for any type of waxing.
- Cons: Not professional waxing area/Costly for a wax job in a sink
Veteran spa in Arlington blends sleek and serene in a neighborhood setting.

In Short
Immense, 100-year-old house in a quiet area of Central Arlington (near the UTA campus). The salon is downstairs where the atmosphere is lively and the furnishings sleek. Body care is performed upstairs, a haven in colors of fawn and taupe. Fresh fruit is offered in the Quiet Room, an airy space with overstuffed chairs for relaxing before and after a treatment. A full menu of body treatments is available, from the prenatal massage to airbrush tanning.

I have been a guest of the Burt Grant salon and spa for many years. I treat myself often! I suggest the afternoon escape with a beautiful grilled chicken salaed catered by the Tin Cup. Hope you enjoy!!
- Pros: great customer service at the desk.. EVERYONE VERY helpfull
- Cons: could use a bit more parking
i have never felt "dirty" after a massage untill now.

first of all, the walls are way too thin in this massage room and the walls dont go all the way up to the ceiling so i could hear everything going on outside the room. not relaxing at all!!! tom enjoyed giving me my massage way too much. his hands seemed to wonder under the sheet too far and i felt as if my whole butt was showing. tom must be a smoker cause i could smell cigarettes the entire time, again not relaxing. I go to an AVEDA spa for the AVEDA experience, not the Marlboro experience. i needed to get a massage from another place just to recover from my massage i had here. Massage should allow you to fall into a meditative state of mind and i did not experience that at all, i found my mind very busy in fact, as i was focusing on all of the outside noise and smells and paying attention to where tom put his hands.
Super, fantastic, THE BEST massage and pedicure!!!

I have visited Burt Grant for years and for many of their services. I have to say that to this day, Tom is the best massage therapist I have ever been to (and I am a spa junkie!!!) He makes you feel very relaxed and comfortable and really knows his techniques. I have also had facials here, airbrush tanning, and their ultimate pedicure - which left my feet soft for months!!! I love, love, love this spa and the staff is so friendly. I'll always return to Burt Grant!!!
- Pros: The Best Massage Therapist in DFW, pedicures superb!!!
- Cons: Parking can be a little tight on busy days

- Cons: it's hard to find a place to park

THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME GOING TO THIS SPA AND IT WON'T BE THE LAST. AMANDA DID MY HAIR AND I MUST SAY I'VE NEVER BEEN THAT SATISFIED BEFORE WITH MY BEAUTY SALON EXPERIENCES...THE RESULTS HAVE NEVER BEEN WHAT I ASKED FOR, BUT AMANDA DID A A+ JOB.
SHE GAVE ME SOME GOOD HAIR CARE TIPS AND ADVICE.
THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY.
MY HAIR NEVER LOOKED THIS GOOD BEFORE. I RECEIVED A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS FOR MY HAIR STYLE. THE PRICES ARE ALSO VERY REASONABLE.
- Pros: FRIENDLY STAFF, GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PRICES
- Cons: THE INSIDE OF THE SALON IS A LITTLE SMALL, THEIR COULD BE MORE SPACE AVLB
