Best Place for the best service
by westsalem08 at Citysearch
I have to say, I read some of the review's and I have to say that I disagree with one of them. Someone said that steve was rude to a customer. Now I have worked with steve for 3 years almost 4, and He is one of the best you can get. I've spent of $500 in the past year total for all the times I've been there. TRY THE STEAK BY THE WAY, ITS DELIOUS!! AND I LOVE THE DUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and please disregaurd what that woman said, she's full of it.
- Pros: EVERYTHING
- Cons: NOTHING
Save your money

Save your money,
We arrived on Saturday night and there were not many diners. We still had to wait over twenty minutes to get a glass of water. Although we had a delicious Pinot Noir it had been stored at room temperature and was much too warm. My husband ordered a lamb shank and I ordered duck and both had way too many ingredients, including both candied walnuts and almonds. We were sorry we hadn't stopped with a salad. Come armed with tums.
- Pros: well priced wines
- Cons: too many ingrediance in each dish, wine poorly stored
Great service and great food

I do not agree with you kalia1. I've dined at Morton's Bistro for the entire eighteen years that they've been an establishment, and not once have i been unsatisfied with the owner (or his food). In fact, he might be one of the most kindhearted people i know. Everytime i visit him in the kitchen he treats me with respect and makes me feel right at home in his restaurant. So all i ask of you is to give Steve and Morton's Bistro another shot. And if not, then hopefully you can realize that you were wrong about the duck. It was perfect.
Great food and atmosphere

Morton's is a wonderful restuarant! I am quite the food and service critic and I have had nothing but exceptional food and service from there. The cioppino is a great choice and the serving was huge, plenty for my mother and I to split, with a LOT of seafood in it and a great broth, we also had the amaretto baked brie as an appetizer the last time that we went there. This restaurant is well known in Salem, especially West Salem, and is definitely one of the best fine dining restaurants in town. They use very fresh ingredients and the atmosphere is nice, as well as is the whine list. Ah, my mouth is watering. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for fine dining in Salem.
Bad Evening

Let me put this disclaimer in-the majority of the time we have been here, the food has been acceptable. However, this time my husband ordered the duck but it came out black on both sides and very tough. He sent the duck back and he ordered the sirloin steak. The chef came out and said, "this is the last time you get to do this."
Ok, if you are a chef, you shouldn't take things personally. Try and make your customers happy, even if you think it isn't justified! The chef was extremely rude and the owner of the restaurant, no less.
Needless to say, we won't go back again.
- Cons: poor service, rude staff
Hidden Treasure In West Salem
by b00pi3flak3s at Citysearch
I am astounded I am the first person to review this fantastic establishment. Everything is excellent from the food to the service to the prices. The prices are a tad spendy for Salem, but worth it for a nice intimate experience with a date or with a large group. The staff was wonderful with each visit, the only knocks are the lack of parking and distant bathrooms.
- Pros: Food, Service
- Cons: Prices, Bathroom
