Good location, lovely room. Right in the heart of the tourist section this hotel is very romantic. The rooms are small and if you have a street-side room it can be loud. Hardwood floors, fireplace, cozy. The price is high, but if it's your first trip to Monterey it's lovely.

An intimate inn that captures the old-fashioned flair of Cannery Row.. The Scene
This 42-room inn is ideally located at McAbee Beach and historic Cannery Row. Guests can walk to the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and the popular factory outlet stores at the former cannery. But while the location is convenient, the proximity to shops and bars can also make it noisy. Those hoping for peace and quiet, as well as great views, should book rooms facing the ocean.

The Details
Intimate and warm, each bedroom has a wood-burning fireplace with a window seat or balcony. Feather beds, floral comforters and canopies add to the Victorian ambience. As for modern touches, guests can enjoy bathrobes, CD players, VCRs and refrigerators. As for indulgence, complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese service are delivered right to your room.

Romantic & Good Value. What a wonderful find this place was. Right on the water, beautiful rooms, quite, with roll out windows, cheese and wine in the afternoons, free breakfast in bed, hardwood floors, marble bathrooms, attentive staff, clean and good value for $189.00 per night.

Beds were small and not that comfortable..... alot of freebies ask to see what is covered in the price of your room.

Excellent. I stayed there for 2 nights for Xmas with my girlfriend and we loved it. We had a room on the cannery row side ($180/nt). I heard the bar across the street can be noisy but lucky for us...it was a slow couple of nights. We enjoyed the fireplace, the sauna, and the free breakfast... you have a choice of OJ, fruit, bagel, muffin, cereals, coffee, milk, or tea and the portion was perfect. The room is small but it was very romantic. The service was fine. It is located right in front of the ocean and within walking distance to the aquarium. We rented a couple of bikes at adventure by the sea and rode all the way to the 17-mile drive and pebble beach and came back. Overall, you must bring your significant other to monterey...it must be one of the most romantic cities in this country.

horrible experience!!!!. wife and I went for a "quiet, restful" weekend. At 10:00-11:00 PM, rock and roll band across the street started blasting-and I mean loud! My complaints to management went nowhere. I will NEVER go back- and don't recommend this joint to anyone!

Spindrift Inn - Romance & Location. This place is one of my favorites in the whole Bay Area. It has all the benefits of a Bed & Breakfast (charming, romantic, etc.), but still has the professional and polished staff and feel of an upscale hotel.

Location is absolutely unbeatable, right on Cannery Row (next door to the Ghiardelli Choclate Factory). If you get an ocean view room, you won't be dissappointed with anything less than a perfectly stunning experience.

Not a fish tale!. The Spindrift is our favorite place to stay when we are in Monterey. It is like staying in your home. You don't see a lot of people hanging around, but the service is impeccable. The rooms on the Cannery Row side are small and cramped, but elegant. The ocean side is terrific and the rooftop garden is a lovely place to catch the evening wind and sunset.

We love the in-room breakfast and you get a snack in the evening.

The Spindrift is a lovely, fun place to stay.
