Lovely Hostess. I was visiting my aunt in Long Island and all she could talk about was the brunch at Riverbay. I decided to stop by on my way home to find out about making a reservation for Mother's Day. When I arrived I was greeted by a very beautiful and very sweet hostess whose name I believe was Brandi. She apologized that Riverbay was not serving brunch on Mother's day (which is so strange to me), but said that we if we are brunch goers then we should definately try the brunch at Riverbay. She then provided me with an extremely detailed and enticing menu. Based on her description I can't wait to try it. I will revisit this review once I have done so.

The most RACIST restaurant!!!!!. I had the most atrocious and horrendous experience at this restaurant. There was a fly in my food and I saw mice dropping on the floor. I also saw the Maître’ D/Manager not allow Blacks to enter because they were a few minutes late for Sunday brunch. I overheard that they made reservations however, the Manager was on the phone and too busy to accommodate them. Being of European descent this was my first experience seeing RACISM and it was appalling. I will inform all of my colleagues, business associations and fellow food critics nationwide not to eat at this restaurant.

You Don't Get What You Pay For !. As a business man I am used to going to a lot of restaurants. In addition, I need to take along clients to help maintain a good standing and or seal a deal. I am a firm beleiver that New York has the best restaurants. Riverbay Seafood is not one of them. This place gives New York a bad name. After a long tiresome day my clients and I needed a good complete meal. Don't go to Riverbay hungry because you won't get filled. What a waste of time ! Ahhh, there are other restaurants that will give me a decent meal for my good money !

Solid Choice for Good Seafood. Traditional seafood restaurant on Long Island that delivers on flavor. Appetizers and entrees are quite tasty and the wine list has plenty of variety. Nice decor inside, you feel like you are eating on an old cruise ship. The only down side to this place is its service is very inconsistent because the waiters are assigned too many tables - its not really their fault. They are running around like crazy and just can't seem to catch up. Bottom line - good food but the dining room can be managed much better. Bring patience with your appetite!

Awful service/buggy side dishes/no compensation/get your own car.... My first and last visit to this restaurant was an unmitigated disaster from start to finish. Very slow service was topped off by a dead insect on my side of coleslaw. The waitress acted like this was business as usual except for whisking the offending dish off the table. We were charged full price and had to seek out the manager ourselves to inform him of the situation. He offered compensation for my next visit - fat chance of that happening. To top it off, both my husband & I and our guests had difficulty retreiving our cars from the valet parking. In each case, the person who took our ticket acted like they didn't know what we were talking about when our car didn't appear after a reasonable amount of time. There was no huge crowd to warrant the wait. I've never experienced such unprofessional practices on every level and will never return.

Seafood is KING here!. If you like fish, fin especially, this is the place to explore and enjoy. It also has a range of oysters to try. The entrees are excellent from the typical to the fanciful. The wait service is also very good. The brunch on Sundays is also very good. Go here you wont be disappointed other than the wait! Cause no one wants to leave! So hang in the bar and try an oyster or a drink.
