We had a couple of college friends gathering here, the food is good, the price is a little high, but the service and atmosphere is what will bring you back.
Slow and indifferent service, poor to just acceptable food and way too expensive for what is offered.

After having come highly recommended I visited Cafe Med twice, once to dine in and followed with a take-out from the gourmet shoppe. Both experiences were disappointing. For dine in I ordered the scallops and they were overcooked and dry. The second visit for take-out, the Greek Salad was acceptable but
light on cucumbers, olives and feta. The olives & feta were fine (hard to mess up with just olive oil). The
Dolmadas were horrid, dry and the filling was awful. I tryed one cold and one heated, nothing helped,
threw the remaining three out. Spent just under $20 (1/2 lb. Greek Salad, 1/4 lb. olives & feta, and 5 Dolmadas). I will not be returning or use the catering service.
- Pros: Decent atmosphere
- Cons: See review
Go for the drinks, not the service

I made reservations for 7 at 5:30. We arrived at 5:25, were ignored for a while, and were seated at 5:45. They were not busy at all at the time.
3 of us sampled several of the martinis on the menu and they were great! The pita bread and appetizers were also really good.
Unfortunately the service was slow and every one of us, except my six-year-old daughter (used kids menu) was disappointed with the entrees. They weren't horrible, but they weren't great. Considering the prices, we expected better food.
- Pros: appetizers, martinis
- Cons: expensive, slow service, cramped seating
Worth a visit

Every visit to Cafe Med has offered excellent food and wonderful service. My favorite dish is scallops with blue cheese and pasta-an odd combination, but absolutely delicious. Their complimentary appetizer of warm homemade pita and spicy spread is addictive. It's so good, you could make a meal of it. But, pace yourself because the rest of meal is sure to please. Located in a well kept strip mall, I probably would never have ventured in except for an article featuring restaurants that Bakersfield chefs frequented on their days off. Cafe Med is a must try!
- Pros: excellent food, great wine list
- Cons: noisey, tables close together
