I haven't been by in a couple years. It's still a great spot on a nice summer night. The food seems to have gotten better and I like how they aren't letting in as many people on the weekends. The drink prices are high but the beer is cheap.

Pros: fresh air, cool drinks

Cons: prices

Yeah not a bad bar, if you don't mind having fraudulent charges on your account! This place racked up $400 worth of drinks within my five minutes of being there...which of course I only discovered the next day. Awesome. I've heard similar items from other people...if you pay in cash, its not that bad of a place.

The outdoor patio is a good spot - but the drinks are terrible - we ordered mojitos that arrived 20 min later in a very small cup but worst of all made with lime cordial - all this at $12 a pop - when we complained to the waiter he replied "welcome to manhattan" I think he meant "welcome to B-bar" B for bad

Pros: outdoor patio

Cons: Drinks, food and value

Coming from California where we are about the outdoors, I love the fact that B-Bar is a block long and is reeeeally a patio bar. Love the open space, the staff is friendly, and the menu and drinks offered are exactly what you want on a nice, warm, afternoon in the city. I am not sure what the bad reviews are all about, maybe the B&T crowd are a bit offended by a place that has been around long enough [geez - guessing that means they might know what they are doing?] to enforce an anti-ghetto look and maintain some civility. Thanks.

Pros: space. lots of open space. and great staff.

Cons: hmm. the B&T crowd?

Aside from the terrible service and overpriced, watered down drinks, the place is filthy, rodents were running around all over the outside patio, and the management is retarded. My friends and I ordered food from their after hours menu consisting of pizza and finger foods. In the bottom of our popcorn shrimp plate was a half melted, dirty birthday candle, and a small piece of dirty paper. It looked as if they served me this dish directly from the garbage. I addressed my server with the problem and she quickly scurried away and never returned. I addressed another server and he told me it wasn't his problem because it wasn't his table. I walked over to the bar to where what looked like the manager, drinking shots with the bartender and a few of the waitresses. He looked underaged and dressed as if he was wearing his father's unfitted suit. He was obviously drunk. I told him about the garbage in my food. He looked really annoyed by me and asked me what I wanted him to do about it. At that point I wasn't sure what I wanted him to do about it, my friends and I didn't want to eat anything that came out of that kitchen. I told him this, he asked me where I was sitting, so I pointed to the table where my friends were. He walked away into the kitchen, came back, and handed me our check with the popcorn shrimp removed, insinuating for us to leave, as if we were terrible customers. I was really shocked. I thought I was very polite in asking for help. I've served tables in NYC for 5 years, and cannot stand annoying customers, and tried my best not to be one, BUT COME ON! THERE WAS GARBAGE IN MY FOOD! I went back to the table, and finished my terrible mojito and left the money and tip on the table. Before we left, my friend used the restroom and came back to tell us that he saw the underaged manager blatantly snorting questionable substances into his nose in the men's room with one of the bartenders. I'll never go back, and you should never go, ever.

Pros: Outside drinking/smoking

Cons: Bad service, food, management, clientele, and cocktails.

The quintessential terrible NYC nightlife experience. Snobbish crowd, meathead bouncing staff, and bad management only out for your money. The wait staff broke a glass at our table and no one cleaned it up, then the manager came over assuming it was our fault. Me and my friends were kicked out and watched until we turned the corner. The place was complete with an exorbitant amount of ripe oranges in baskets seemingly for decoration only. This is a waste of good food that could be used in constructive or charitable ways at the end of a day. You have to wonder why a place like this is still in business. Boycott B Bar.

Cons: Bad staff, lame crowd, irresponsible decorating (oranges).

Although I actually used to like this bar, I recommend anyone who is gay or has gay friends keep well clear of this place. The management have a highly hypocritical attitude, cynically turning the place into a gay bar on certain nights of the week, but then turning gay people away on others. I can speak from first hand experience, having enjoyed the bar in the past, last nights doormen were turning gay men away with the statement 'men only allowed in with their girlfriends'. Come on B bar. Grow up!

Pros: its open to straight people

Cons: its closed to gay people

I wouldn't have minded the 20 percent gratuity charge of our table of over 6 had we actually had some service. It took forever for our waiter to take our order, bring our drinks, and come back to take our orders for more drinks. This also wouldn't have been a problem had there actually been a ton of people demanding him to serve them too which wasn't the case. It wasn't a busy night and our waiter very much didn't pull through with the job that he was getting paid for. We briefly complained about having to pay the 20% gratuity, just to give him a heads up that his service was pretty terrible, then told him to put about $75 on 1 credit card and keep the $100 something that we had also put down in cash to foot the bill. He comes back and drops off the receipt and has actually charged the FULL amount of the bill onto the credit card and pocketed the cash. Best to avoid this place because they're managed through stupidity, over priced drinks, and terrible terrible service. The outdoor area was a lovely place to sip on a drink on a nice day.

Pros: Lovely outdoor seating, fun area

Cons: Awful service and overpriced drinks

Last week me (engineer) and my sister in law (manager of a famous hotel in town), were jumping from bar to bar. We ended at bar B (1:30 am). The kitchen was closed and the service was slow even though it was late. The male bartender was nice; however the female bartender ignore my sister in law for like 15 minutes… you are a bartender you should help customers period! If you were something else you wouldn’t be in a bar serving beers. . We tipped him 13 bucks for two beers. And left. I decided to go back last night and give the male bartender $ 20 more and have one beer before going to bed. But I wasn’t allowed entrance b/c there were too many guys inside. This place is bad and you better be tall and blonde to get in. please spend your money were you are going to be treated with professionalism I would never go back to a place with average beers, simple food, wake up management you are in NYC... You will never attract really VIP with that service.

Pros: it is a big place.

Cons: Service and food.

we went to B-Bar & Grill for a birthday party with 16 guests. they charge $2 without notice for each person just for bring out plates and forks. it's total $32!!! we don't mind if they let us know before they serve. Also I went to men restroom tiwce. The first time I paid $1 for the restroom attendant. So The second times I didn't pay. And He stop me and say "you are not giving me any $$" what the XYZ??? I said I gave you $ before !! you know what, Aleast 3 people go to restroom every min, that mean $180 per hours X 5 hrs for 1 night= $900 per night just for tips... not even about the $, He should never ask for $$$, soooo rude. The Restauarants come with # $2 per person for serving cake rule without notice # Keep the rude attendant inside the restroom this is the worst restauarant ever, I will never go there again, and not recommended

Pros: Food is ok

Cons: slow and rude service response
