A nice family Spa
by donnah
I read a few reviews about Glen Ivy, didn't think I would like it. But went with my friend, and had a wonderful time. The "lady" that said to many FAT people and ugly kids, watch out for Karma! The food was over priced and not that good. But other than that, I will go back next time I'm in California. It cost 38-58? to get in for the day, depending on the day of the week.,which I thought was great. If you want any massages it will cost you more, but well worth it. The grounds are beautiful. If you think you are high class, or prissy, Please do not go. Go somewhere they take care of your sorry butt, and the rest of us don't have to put up with you. Then we can enjoy ourselves. This is a family place, so if you don't like kids, stay away!! Don't bring a towel, use theirs. And depending on the material, the mud can ruin your suit.
- Pros: Family Place
- Cons: Food to expensive
No spa here

This place is not even close to a spa. It is like a water park without the rides. Too many loud people ( S.T.F.U.) that don't understand a spa atmosphere. There was disgusting skin (and lots of it) floating in the pools. There was hair on the benches in the steam room. It was so vile that it makes my stomach turn while I'm typing this. I guess with the economy they laid-off the cleaning people. What a f*****g rip off. Don't even waste your time going to this joint. You're better off going to the local drug-store and buying a tub of mud and a plastic pool and make your own spa...........it will be more relaxing and guaranteed the water will be clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: cafe food is yummy
- Cons: dirty water, dirty steam room, loud people, no spa here
Not worth the drive, the money or the time and certainly not relaxing.

A flawed concept: Not a spa to relax and feel pampered and not a destination. Don't buy a gift certificate because they "hold" them at the desk and dont find them when you arrive. A great start to a relaxing day! No robe or flip flops are provided but they propose that you buy them! Treatment choices are very limited. Treatments are provided in different buildings so you have to get dressed between treatments. When you arrive the desk clerk sends you to the first treatment building without telling you about the lockers/showers/bathrooms. Waiting rooms have extremely uncomfortable bench seats more appropriate to a bus station than a spa. Waiting room staff conduct business and private conversations. Phone rings constantly. Massage room walls are paper thin and your hear the bathroom vent and toilet flush repeatedly during the treatment. Facial is inadequate, eyes are ignored, no explenation of treatment or request for choice, aesthetician wears latex gloves which feel like rubber on your face (body scrub and massage include face treatment without gloves). No pillow under your legs so your lower back hurts. Sheets are too small to cover your feet. All of this is not improved by the funeral music. The place has many pools and smells of chlorine. It is packed with day visitors and noisy. It really is a local recreation center, not a spa.
Over priced and over rated

First check in was like talking to an auctioneer. The receptionist rushed us through the front lobby which left us confused and uncertain which services to schedule. We had a $700. gift card that I gave to my wife for xmas. It was our anniversary so I figured this would be perfect. Wrong!! Once rushed out of check in, we had to find our way over to the lockers. There we met a long line of people trying to schedule something, anything. On a Monday!! My mistake for not scheduling in advance. I should have arrived before the tour bus got there. Or it seemed that way. Very crowded and kinda weird. Oh and alternative life style persons everywhere! Several women tried to pick up my wife when she was alone between treatments. The pools and hot tubs had women on women and men on men. Sorry, but it seemed like a mistake spending a day there for our anniversary. $700. got us lunch for two, a bottle of wine, a facial for my wife, a pedicure for me, hot stone massage for two and one foot therapy. I should have enjoyed another bottle of wine instead of the $45. foot job. My suggestion: go to Vegas and get your spa too for the same price.
- Pros: Landscaping
- Cons: Crowded
not ever again!!!!!!

My daughter took me to Glen Ivy for a girls day out, I thought wow this is beautiful. Wonderfully landscaped. We went into the locker rooms to change and I was so excited since this was my first visit. Our day begun, first we went into the salt water bath where I found dragonflies floating around, we went to the quiet zone where 3 ladies were drunk and not being so quiet, I did enjoy the water arobics. We went into the overlook pool where a couple well let's just say his bathing suit was buldging out and her top was off, wheres security, I don't like to sound like a prude but other people use the pools too, we walked off to go have lunch, The menu was fair as far as choices, the lines were long, service was awful only two laddies knew what they were doing, Say hello to an elderly lady who worked around all those young kids that acted like they were there not for work but for fun, and the other lady who made us a great salad who had great guest service the rest of them need to learn from these two ladies.I also noticed a very hard working young man I think a dishwasher who had a great smile I don't remember his name but he is a very hard working young man and clearly seen he enjoyed his job.As far as the cashiers go they had to ask us what we were having shouldn't they have known from looks, Grotto was so fun. but I was afraid of the mud only because going down the steps you can't see where your going and that kinda scared me not to mention the smell. would I go back to Glen Ivy, No reasons rude service, overpriced, dragon flies in the water and over crowded.
- Pros: grotto
worst, worst place to go!!!!!
by rcliffo
I would never go back to this so called spa, the mineral pool it's a sess pool that people cram into. All the other pools are clorinated. I couldn't feel relaxed because of overcrowding people everywhere and the prices are outrageous. Why should I spend that much money getting there to have rude service from the people that work in the cafe? My friends and I had the worst service from a supervisor that worked in the cafe she just thought she was miss perfect, to find out that she was even talking about us behind our backs
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: nothing
worst service in the cafe
by DVilla
I would not go back to the spa unless you want to be treated poorly especially in the cafe.very rude people work there. The supervisor acts like she is doing you a favor by being there she even argues with the guest she thinks she's right what ever happend to customer is always right. Then she talks about people behind their backs and laughs at them. That's the lazy rude people that work there
- Pros: Grotto thumbs up
- Cons: cafe thumbs down
the worst spa ever!!
by mmallas
I have been to spas many times and this doesn't even compare! I would NEVER go again! the lines are Ridiculous! way too expensive for what you get. try some where else!
- Pros: great concept
- Cons: WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE
Take the word spa out of the name.
by pravada17
This is not a spa, this is an over priced community pool.
Where are the necessary spa environment components like spa music, knowledgeable and accommodating staff, spa drinking water, or robes?!
This place needs to really get it together if they are going to continue to use the word SPA.
How do I get back my time?
- Pros: The nataural beauty of the location.
- Cons: The price, the high school staff, the smell, the cheap bleach stained towels, the lines, & the tacky clientell that the place attacts.
Forget about life, work, and school and de stress

Glen Ivy was a nice get-away from the everyday stresses of life, even if it is only for the day. My mom, dad, sister and her husband, and I all went for Father's Day. It wasn't too hot and the BBQ they offered was delicious. They offered chicken, ribs, baked beans, potato salad, etc. It was slightly crowded but what can you expect in such a large place. We were still able to relax in the pools and spas as well as get rafts to use in the floating pool. The staff was walking around offering cups of water to keep everyone hydrated.
Our day at Glen Ivy was worth every cent! I'd totally recommend it to get away for the day.
- Pros: beautiful environment, ice water served throughout the spa, free parking
- Cons: Remember to bring sunscreen
