Terrible
by lrkercher
My husband and I went here for the first time tonight. The place is tiny and was crowded so we had to sit at a high top table with the most uncomfortable stools ever. The server came over to take our order. We ordered and NEVER saw him again. Took 25 minutes for our first course to come out. Had to flag down another server/busboy in the restaurant for refills AFTER we had already eaten our main entree. He took our glasses and never returned. Finally another server walked by and saw we were sitting at a completely empty table and asked if everything was ok. Explained we asked for refills and the guy never returned so he was kind enough to get us refills. Food was plain - I'd say maybe a 5 out of 10 if i was being generous. Waste of time and money.......
THis is the last time i listen to best of NJ food critique

I found this restaurant through Best of South Jersey magazine and thought I'd give it a try. Wow, big mistake!! I felt that as soon as I walked in. The decor is horrible and there is absolutely no ambience. I felt that the tables were crowded together and I did not get a sense of cleanliness. It looked as though it was decorated about 20 + years ago in an asian theme lacking no style. The waiter seemed rushed and unenthused with our presence. Aside from all of this, I tried to maintain a positive perspective hoping that maybe the food would be good. However, our food which was served on plastic plates, lacked flavor and quality. There were 4 in my party and we tried most of the chef's specialties. I just sat there wondering why this restaurant was written up in Best of South Jersey. I can honestly say that I would never return or recommend this restaurant and not even for the coconut cream pie which was at best mediocre.
Great food.

Awesome food.
Try the coconut pie. Even though it doesn't look classy, it is simply amazing!
overpriced substandard

The food was over priced and poor quality. The dishes were lacking in flavor, bland and unimaginative. Dessert was the only highlight and it was probably pre-made. It is also very noisy and hot in there.
- Pros: Waiter was friendly
- Cons: Food was not good, overpriced, lacking creativity.
The meal was a steal!!! Four Courses For $30
by 86danielson
We went to dinner the other night and had Ritz Seafoods 4 Course dinner for $30, we were just blown away with the dinner we had. We've eaten at other 4 couse deals throughout philly & south jersey durring restaurant week but they do this all the time although not on Sat. night. I mean we're talking a dozen appetizers as well as entree's and we didn't notice any size difference in entree's. alittle bit smaller salad
(a large salad by any other places standards) and a smaller dessert potion but hey, when this places regular menu items are between $17 & $25, the meal was a STEAL!!! Service was great too, i mean I don't know what the other reviewer saw, ( I mean this place is not the Four Seasons, its a great neighborhood place, serving consistant great food, I guess if you show up without a reservation 15 minutes before the place closes, they close at 10pm, maybe you should be glad they served you.) Anyway that was not the case when we arrived at 8pm on a Wed. night and was greated by the owner, a very charming asian woman who sat us promptly, although other people were waiting for a table, but fortune would have it that my wife called ahead and made reservations. All my wife and I can say is that don't waste your dime or your time going to Philly or the shore when a really great place is right here, all be it in stripmall, & don't make a mistake and go to the joint on the corner. But Ritz Seafood is great but save room for dessert, the Coconut Cream Pie topped with white chocolate and shaved toasted fresh coconut is the bomb!!!
- Pros: 4 courses for $30, great hot chocolate, charming asian owner/hostess, BYOB
- Cons: they don't serve alcohol
Dinner and a movie: Outstanding Pan-Asian cuisine steps away from the Ritz 16.

In Short
This spot's plain exterior and simple name suggest a run-of-the-mill strip mall eatery, but inside this casual, tiny B.Y.O.B., is a seafood lover's paradise. A Japanese-theme interior is tastefully decorated, with a small carp pond and tranquil stone waterfall. Dressed with soy-sesame vinaigrette and served on an inverted martini glass, a mini seafood torte puts sushi lovers on cloud nine. The dessert menu is limited, with house-made choices such as a rich chocolate truffles.
- Pros: Romantic
- Cons: slow service
Rushed dining with average service

Seated at 9:30 Fri night in an unfriendly manner. A lack of ambiance and a disgruntled waiter met us, who didn't want to be bothered by the nite's last party. He rambled the specials, & we ordered the deep-fried soft-shell crabs (he said it came with 3, but we only received 2) and mussels appetizers - black bean and garlic broth was fantastic. Had to ask the waiter for water,& the entrees were brought while apps were still on the table. My ahi tuna was dry, with crunchy brown boring rice and cool vegetables, although my date's talapia was tasty and hot. We finished the meals and left quickly. It was an empty room by then and I had tired of being rushed. I will not be back here - the service was cold like my tuna and I could get better for $20 entrees if I drive to Philly.
- Pros: fresh seafood, appetizers, BYOB
- Cons: ambiance, service, attitude
Doesn't get much better than this.

After seeing a movie at the Ritz, just decided to stop in and try Ritz Seafood. Haven't been able to get enough of it. The food is amazing; the staff is always aiming to please. Love, love LOVE the coconut cream pie, which is out of this world (even if you don't think you like that kind of thing). Would go just for the fabulous food, but the handsome waiters are an added bonus. :)
- Pros: BYOB, staff, good parking
- Cons: crowded tables, pricey
A one-of-a-kind seafood gem.

We've been reading so much about this place lately, and then saw it on Food Network's "The Best of Seafood Restaurants" and figuered we better try this place out. Maybe (nolanpt) is a competitor, but my wife and I loved this place. Heck, it's Zagat Guides top rated seafooder in NJ & just made their America's top restaurants list....now it was just our first time, but greeted by the owners personally, app.s are enough for two, great Hawaiian Butterfish, my wife had whole Devilfish (HUGE, SPICEY & YUM), But the best & WOW I mean a Coconut Cream pie to die for, topped with white chocolate & fresh toasted coconut, i am not a coconut fan but it was really good! & BIG!, good service too.
- Pros: really FRESH fish, Nice, clean ladiesroom, Not usual anything
- Cons: Portions to big, crowded, poring our own wine
great restaurant

- Pros: food, service, Snapper Thai style!
- Cons: , little tight
