La Buvette is the first place I think of going when we head to the Old Market area. The wine selection is outstanding and the knowledgable staff, especially James, is always able to find just the right bottle for your mood and pocketbook. Their cheese plate and breads from local bakeries are delicious. Their fava bean salad incorporates some of their own grown herbs. The olives, heaven! The outside tables allow for wonderful people watching. Some of the Old Market's most colorful citizens are frequent patrons at La Buvette and I feel like I know them even though we have never met!

Ahh, what a relief! A unique, small eatery with plenty of fresh food and what a selection of wine! Choose your wine off of the shelves and enjoy it over cheese and meat plates at your table - or just browse the store to fill your own pantry. They have capitalized on the atmosphere of the Old Market area - industrial, warehouse charm - to create a comfortable, bohemian space fit for a lazy afternoon or luncheon escape. This spot has a lot of charm, but don't go if you are smoke-fobic. The regulars do puff just like in Paris!
