Best BBQ
by hoze
We visit Lancaster's at least 3-4 times a month. One thing that makes us return is that we always know what we are going to get. The food and service is always great. We always are made to feel welcome not only by the host and wait staff but by the management as well. I give this a 10 and will continue to frequent this establishment as long as they continue to serve up great "southern hospitality".
- Pros: Fast service, hot food, friendly staff
- Cons: no call-ahead seating
GREAT
by pikeracing
First visit was outstanding. Service was very satisfying. Food was was delicious and I can't wait to go back. My son attends NTI and I look forward to taking him. To the person from California, remember keep an open mind. I to do not like vinegar in my barbeque, but they have more than 1 type of barbeque.
- Pros: Great food, Service, and Clean
- Cons: NONE
Great for all ages

To the guy from California. Different styles of BBQ are made because we are all different. You like food your way and others like it their way. Lancaster's has been in business for 20 years and a lot of people like it, that should tell you something. I would never rate a western BBQ restuarant cause that is not the style I care for.
- Pros: Great food and place for all ages
- Cons: none
NC BBQ is WAY overrated!
by deevot
What's the deal with NC BBQ lore. Just moved here from San Diego, and people I am not impressed. Vinegar is for pickles not pork; bbq should be pulled not ground up like mince meat jerkey chew you can buy for $.99 at the local gas station. Ever hear of Beef Brisket? Ever hear of sliced pork? Can i have some choices in sauces, sweet, spicy, mustard? In your words, "give a fellar some options". The best BBQ I have eaten is at Dinosaur's in Syracuse NY, and (I forget the name) in St. Louis. They do it up right. Enough with the vinegar, long live the rub and the tomato!
good food, bad service
by flossiegirl
We have visited many times and it seems that the service gets worse each time. This past Saturday evening we visited and we had to constantly remind our waitress to refill our drinks which she never returned to us to do, Finally I just asked her to bring the check and a go-box at the same time so we could just leave but even that took forever. It's a shame that the food is pretty good but the service stinks.
Yummy

The food and atmosphere at Lancaster's is awesome. Now this little Kentucky girl perfers Western Kentucky BBQ but Lancaster's chicken and hush puppies certainly make me smile.
- Pros: good food & cool atmosphere
- Cons: too smoky
Good food, rude waitress!
by ecu07
This place has really decent food but my most recent experience included the rudest waitress I've ever had to deal with in a restaurant. We asked to be seated in non-smoking but were seated in smoking. When we realized this, we told our waitress we didn't want to sit near smoke. She replied "Oh well, we usually don't have that many smokers." and walked off. Once everyone in our surrounding booths lit up, we asked our waitress again to allow us move because the smoke bothered us. She just said "I'm sorry" and walked off again. We finally told her we were moving and she became really rude. Once we had gotten seated in the non-smoking section, she came over to our table and stated "Just for your future reference, we don't ask during lunch service for smoking preference." A member of my party told her quietly that it was ok because we wouldn't be coming back. The waitress then yelled at us that we didn't have any right to treat her this way and she didn't appreciate it. We asked this girl at least twice to move us and she wouldn't it. That's not service to me. I attempted to complain to the manager but she also didn't seem to care at all at the way we had been treated. We (my party and me) are never going to eat there again. The food is good but not THAT good to be worth such a fiasco. If any member of my party (all 3 of us) had been rude at any point, I wouldn't write this, but we were calm the entire time and just wanted to be away from all the smoke. I recommend Sonny's for BBQ and Teddy's for other great cuisines in the Mooresville area.
- Pros: Good BBQ, OK burgers, GREAT fries
- Cons: Rude waitress and an apathetic manager
Busiest restaurant I've ever seen -- for a reason
by glper
The food is excellent. The atmousphere is unique -- even for non-racing fans. Mostly, however, the wait staff is a great, friendly bunch.
- Pros: service, food
- Cons: none
Best ribs anywhere!!!
by 19walrus95
We are from Indiana. Found Lancaster's when coming to the Charlotte area for Nascar races twice a year. It is the best food we have ever had anywhere. The ribs absolutely melt in your mouth and the wings are awesome too. Don't go to the race now, our driver retired. I miss Lancaster's as much as the racing. Definitely will make a trip from time to time for Lancaster's. A must if you are in the area!
- Pros: Everything pro- the atmosphere, the service, the people
- Cons: none whatsoever
great bar b que
by tcrazy
I have family in Virginia and on my way two years ago we had to stop for gas in Mooresville NC on I 77. We asked the gas station attendent for a good bar b que place and he recomended Lancasters. Well, this is the best bbq I have had bar none. We have 2 boys and they went nuts on the game room and it kept them busy while we finished our meal. Try the ribs they will melt in your mouth. The bbq plate was killer also. I wish there was a bbq place in atlanta that could come close to this place.
- Pros: great for family, great value, killer bar b q
- Cons: not in
