by Steef at Citysearch

I highly recommend this place, definitely best sandwiches in town and everywhere!! o and their potato salad OUTSTANDING. there is just something about it, i cant get enough of it!. Backyard/patio is very romantic, nice to take a date! only thing sandwiches are kinda expensive, but worth it!

  • Pros: tasty, best sandwiches
  • Cons: kinda hard to find parking space, a bit expensive

summer evening dining

by keithnkitty at Citysearch

back street will be celebrating it's 39th year july 10th 2006. the owners daughter and son in-law took over in 2001. they are now open in the evening during the summer. it's the same menu (best sandwiches in town). they have added a small wine list (no merlot). with local live acts(jazz-classical-ukelele) every night. bike nite once a month (bicycles included). battery car nite and exotic car nite also.

great food- great service.

The Best Lucnh Spot You'll Ever Find

by hlara at Citysearch

My family has been going to the Back Street for 3 generations, and I just had the pleasure of introducing it to the 4th!

The not only is the food superb, but the ambience enchanting. Diners sit on the patio surrounded by lush greenery encircling a fountain.

The menu is simple- sandwiches (choice of meat, & bread, mayo or butter, no veggies), choice of beans, slaw, or potato salad, and a help-yourself veggie bar (pickles, marinated tomatoes & cucumbers, pasta salad, etc.) but that doesn't mean that the quality is lacking.

Everything is homemade with the original European touch that is hard to find, right down to the delicious special recipe tarts for dessert. This restaurant is family owned, and you will be greeted daily by the same friendly smiles. Service is friendly and attentive. You can't get any better.

Sandwich with drink and tart about $13. Worth every penny!
