Fantastic Food and service

by Sherlock41 at Citysearch

In a word - FANTASTIC!!! Reservations are a must. Steaks you can cut with your fork and the best lobster you will find anywhere. For desert the special chocolate cake is devine. For those who enjoy German food, be sure to check the special of the day. Rudy's kitchen staff does a superb job with the food prep and the service staff out front makes you feel at home. Truly wonderful service. Now that I have found it, I will be returning and bringing friends and family. Thanks again to the Ettlins for providing us with this gem of a country restaurant which is only a 30 minutes south of the Mall of American

You'll never be disappointed

by Bretagne2 at Citysearch

I've been eating at the Ranchero for years and I've NEVER had a bad experience. The food is always, consistently amazing. Everything is home-cooked and served piping hot. The prices are very cheap considering the high quality of food. Servers are always excellent. It's truly a family-run establishment. You won't regret a trip to Webster, but make sure you have reservations on weekends and holidays.

Am I sure I want to let you in on this?

by padrewu at Citysearch

This is everything your grandparents did back in the day- Ate prime rib, potatoes of every sort, washed it all down with cold beer and scotch before playing eucher and smoking... inside! All this and you'll have change from those two Jacksons in your wallet.

The Ettlin's have been doing this so long that anyone who's ever been there knows to find somewhere else to go in August when they close shop for a month-long trip back to the Fatherland.

If you don't go, then I won't ever have to wait for you get your fill of their Friday fish fry or the duck- twice as good as anybody else's and half the price.

  • Pros: pretty much everything
  • Cons: It's only a con if you refuse to eat on checker table cloths

I have been driving from south Mpls to this fine establishment on Friday nights 5-6 times per year RELIGIOUSLY since 1979!!! Why? The world's finest Friday night fish fry, bar none! Delicious cod that's exquisitely prepared in a very light and tasty non-greasy batter, with scrumptious hot bread plate and non-greasy french fries, and it's all you can eat---of EVERYTHING! Simple elegance and full bar. Come as you are for good service and superb dining. This is, quite possibly, the best-kept FABULOUS DINING secret in the entire surrounding metro area! Be sure to make reservations.

  • Pros: World's best cod, Non-greasy and delici, Fantastic bread platt
  • Cons: Distance
