exceptional spot to frequent!
by siz1016 at Citysearch
Gina Agosta Salon is a great place to go for your personal services! The very friendly staff is very accomodating from the front desk, to the stylists, to the girls helping clean! Where do you go where the owners are helping sweep for their staff, or asking the clients themselves if they need anything to drink? This family owned company is very friendly and i have highly recommend to all my friends!
- Pros: highly trained staff!
- Cons: book early!! very busy!!
Set the record straight

This is in response to the post below...
Being in the industry myself I can say with the utmost confidence that the post below is a farce.
I have known of Gina Agosta Salons for many years and have a great deal of respect for them.
They employ quality hair design professionals and although you can't please everyone they do a really great job.
Please visit them with confidence.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: none that I can think of
who are they paying to write a good review???

I figure it must be friends/family of those that work there because I have never seen such a salon full of hairdressers with snotty attitudes. I started out with Audra who was great, but she left. Then my troubles began. First Kate, who never even spoke to me while she did my color, nor asked how I liked It (I didn't). Then Kay, who after she applied my color, sat me in the furthest dryer from her (on the hair cutting side) even though virtually every dryer was available. Worse, when I was done processing, she had someone else rinse me out and never even came over to see her handiwork. I've never had that happen in over 40 years of having my hair done - hairdressers always want to see the color they created and make sure you like it.
And that's just the coloring side. For cut I had the absolute worst cut of my life with Jon Paul, Marcie (or someone whose name starts with M-she never introduced herself) did a little better but her blowdryer had more personality than she did. Again, didn't ask if I liked it, and actually acted like it was a big inconvenience to her to have to cut my hair. Next I tried Linda next and boy does she ever think she is great. Not so much. And I really can't understand how people think they are reasonable. I've been coming out of there for between $130-$150 (cut and color) not including tip!!! Holy moly, would these hairdressers pay these prices themselves? I think not. That's just too much to spend to put up with these prima donas and not be happy with my hair. I'll keep searching, thanks.
- Pros: relatively clean
- Cons: $$$ and hairdressers with major attitudes
very nice salon

I went to this salon and was greeted by a very nice girl at the front desk, i didnt find the girls there rude at all! She walked me back to my seat got me a coke. I had Stephanie the colorist give me the best highlights of my life. I have never been happier with my hair. I would recommend Stephanie to anyone, she is so nice she will make up for any rudeness you deal with at the front desk. (which i didnt)
RUDE RUDE RUDE

WOW! The girls that answer the phone are so rude. (can't imagine what the rest of the employees are like) The rude girl who answered the phone didn't even say good bye before hanging up (after her already rude phone conversation) ......just slammed the phone down. Nedless to say I cancelled my appointment. This will probably be one of those places that will go out of business because they can't get new clients or keep old ones! Too bad you can't give out no stars.
CONSISTENTLY RUDE FRONT DESK STAFF

By far the rudest, most arrogant appointment makers, receptionists, etc. The stylists and colorists are a little friendlier, but it hardly makes up for what you go through trying to make your appointment. I was forgotten on hold, called back and was cut off, called a third time and was reprimanded. All for a simple haircut appointment. Wow! When you walk in the door they can hardly be bothered. I also go there to get my hair done, i don't walk in with it perfect usually, and boy do they let you know you don't quite look up to their standards. Sorry girls, I'll try better to impress you next time with my wardrobe, etc.
- Pros: corrected a botched color for me once for free, appreciated that!
- Cons: rude, rude, rude girls who answer the phone and deal with you when you walk in!!!

I was a customer at Gina Agosta's since I can remember! Then, at 14, I started my first job as a cleaning girl at this salon. I continued to work there until just a few months ago when I graduated from college! Working at Gina Agosta Salon throughout high school and college was the best experience I could have asked for. Working behind the scenes, it was clear to me that these stylists truly care for you and want you to always look and feel your best! John and Gina, the owners, strive every single day to make each customers experience the best it possibly could be. This salon is genuine, the owners truly care, the stylists/colorists/nail techs/etc. are all down to earth, yet very talented people. I don't know many people who can actually say they love every single person they work with- but I really could! There is not one person I would not trust there to do my hair. The reason I am writing this review is to let people who may not have had the Agosta experience know that this is an amazing salon well worth their try. I believe one of the reasons the service you will receive there will be beyond your expectations, is because everyone there really enjoys being there and that is evident from the customers perspective. I miss working there and being able to be apart of that great atmosphere all the time, but they definitely have a customer for life in me! The best tip I could give anyone else- is try them out! Every woman on my street, all of my friends, new co-workers, family... everyone I have recommended to try, loved their experience from beginning to end. That is why I am proud to say I worked there, that is why I will continue to go there and that is why I recommend you do as well! Thank you Gina Agosta and everyone there for all you have given me and congratulations on all your successes!
- Pros: everything :)
Nice cut, good customer service
by punkypower at Citysearch
To me, finding a good hair stylist is worse than finding a doctor you like. I started going to this salon in February and have received nothing but compliments on my hair and people ask me where I get my hair done. The prices vary depending on which stylist you have, but for the quality of the cut, i think the price I pay is reasonable. I always get what I ask for and the cuts grow out nicely. I'm always greeted when I walk in the door and someone always offers me something to drink. I haven't had any bad experiences with the customer service, except for one time when I made an appointment and they didn't log it in their computer system, so they had no record of making the appointment for me (I couldn't find my appointment card until a couple weeks later). They got me in the next day though. I haven't tried their other services, but I'm jonesing for a massage, so I might try them soon.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that all the bad reviews come from people who may not be that lovely themselves. If your experience is really that terrible at a salon, you should speak to the manager or owner immediately. Salons don't build solid reputations when they're jacking up peoples' hair on a regular basis, or treating their customers like dirt.
- Pros: skilled staff, evening appointment times
only the best for me
