FANTASTIC

Great place to eat, hang out for a cocktail or pickup a carryout. The food was fantastic and the owner you can tell takes great pride in his food. I sat at the bar to eat. Very little smoke and the service was perfect.

Reliably good food, Great atmosphere

It is perhaps the best Chinese food store in the entire area. The people are very amiable and the food is consistently good. I have the orange chicken almost once a week as my reward for making it through the week. I have also dined there with friends and the atmosphere is not what you'd expect to be lying along a strip mall; it is very sheik. My only critique was that the egg roll recipe has changed and not for the better. Aside from that, I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys Chinese and classy atmospheres.

Exquisite Chinese Cuisine Best In Area The Gem Of Novi

I traveled from the East side of Detroit to experience exceptional Chinese Cuisine @ the China Cafe. The atmosphere and freshly prepared Chinese Cuisine was fantastic. I did not realize how the food could differ in such a wonderful unique way. My meal was prepared fresh and made to order with fresh vegtables & other fabulous ingredients. This was the best Chinese Cuisine I have ever experienced, the staff was exceptional and the pride taken was apparent by the food, service and establishment. If you are looking to experience great Chinese I highly reccomend the China Cafe in Novi ( You Won't Be Disappointed)!

BEST CRAB RANGOONS I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!

The food is not the best I have ever had; though the crab rangoon can't compete w/ anyone else's!!

(Golden House Chinese Restaurant in Howell, MI ROCKS!! )

The servers watch you like hawks (kind of makes you feel like you can't take your time and enjoy.)

The atmosphere is not your typical Chinese restaurant; yes, it's modern, but nice!

Odd location, you would never would know it's there if you didn't know!

Pricey.

Forget What You Think You Know About Chinese Restaurants!

If you have never tried China Cafe, you owe it to yourself to do so! But be prepared, this restaurant completely redefines the 'Chinese restaurant' experience. From the comfortable, contemporary decor to the elegant execution of the dishes, this place has never disappointed. My husband is an excellent cook himself, so it is very difficult for us to find a place that really offers us an outstanding experience at a reasonable price. He never turns down an opportunity to visit China Cafe, even though it's about 25 miles away from our home! Always ask about the specials. They use interesting ingredients - egg plant, Chinese basil, delicious ginger coconut sauces -and the quality of expertly prepared vegetables, meat and seafood is always impressive. We are excited about their brand-new menu. Above and beyond the outstanding quality of the food are the people. The wait staff are extremely polite and attentive, and owners Kelly and Susanna go out of their way to make everyone feel welcomed. They make a point of trying to really get to know their customers as individuals. Everything combined makes eating at China Cafe an excellent experience!

One of the best restaurants in the area

I have been going to China Cafe regularly since it opened. Kelly and Susanah are fantastic people - one or both is always up front to greet and talk with guests. The food and service is consistently excellent, and it is one of the best restaurants in the area. The pricing is beyond fair, given the quality of the food, presentation, and atmosphere. Everyone I have referred this restaurant to has thanked me for giving them a new favorite place to eat.

BEST CHINESE FOOD & SERVICE!!

I absolutely love the food here!! They need to open more locations so I can go there more often. Kelly & Suzanna are so welcoming and friendly. They will prepare any dish that you like, even if it's not on the menu. Clearly the people that wrote negative feed back... must be jealous that their business is not doing as well as the China Cafe!!!

over-hyped disappointing

I used work nearby for 2 years and HAD to go to this place a number of times. I can't understand all the hype about this place. I have tried almost every dish on the menu and can definitely say that it doesn't deserve it. Service is not impressive either. The decor is good though and the place does not stink.
