Lacking in basic customer service

When I first moved to Michigan, I was looking for a great salon (coming from a large city). I found a good stylist at Bocci and had been going to her over the last year and, might add, I thought had a good relationship with her and tipped her well each time. Because she was good, I tried to ignore the fact that a couple of the girls behind the front desk lacked some basic customer service skills (sometimes rude and would not go out of their way for looking at the schedule to add on services or even get a coffee for the client). However, just recently, I had an appointment with the salon and called ahead to let them know I was running 10 minutes late due to traffic. Low and behold, the girl at the front desk asked me to hold to ask my stylist if she could still take me and my stylist (to my surprise) said, "She is booked solid and with 10 min behind, she is unable to take you" - the salon or the stylist not even booking/considering appointments to have a grace period of only 10 minutes! All I can say is that I normally stick with a good stylist, but when customer service is lacking all around, and you can't accomodate a good client, it's time to leave. Customer service is important along with a good stylist and Bocci Salon, you lost a good client. To all reading this, I hope you find that balance of good customer service and a good stylist - I am now looking for a new salon myself!

GREAT ESCAPE

I just wanted to leave a comment and let everyone out there that if you want a fantastic facial, melissa is the lady you want to book your appt with.

Not only was she very knowledgeable in her skin care line ,her technique was fantastic.i literally slid off of the table like butter and my skin that is usually dry and flaky was smooth and hydrated.i felt like i had a new face.then i sat in the spa afterwords and had some tea and read my book for awhile.anyways i really enjoyed it,thank you so much.i cant always get away and it was just perfect. sincerly, Julie p.s. she also does fabulous eyebrows

What a rip off !

I went to Bocci's with a $60 giftcard for a set of acrylics -- thinking I'd have a few bucks left over for another service. Hahaha! I barely had enough for the nail wrap! I can't believe they charge so much. They aren't THAT good ! I can afford to go back -- but I won't. And I won't recommend them, either. It's just the principle, I guess.

Bad Haircut

I will never go back!!! Hairdresser Cristy Lynn rushed thru the haircut, razored chucks of my hair making hair full in spots and very thin in other areas. My hair is very thick and I didn't notice these areas until I arrived home. Six monthes later I am still growing out her mistakes. And when I went to pay the receptionist was a rude, spoiled brat. Very unprofessional salon, and with the economy the way it is, I definitely threw my money away.

Worst Hairstylist/Worst Receptionist(s)

I was very disappointed in the "new" Bocci Salon. The red hair receptionist with the tattoo's going down her arms was rude, unprofessional, did not care about customer service and was more interested in her personal conversations with other stylists or the other receptionist. You are going to loose a lot of business Tracy Bocci if you do not get that front desk personnel straightened out. I would never ever recommend this place nor step another foot in there and I have told other friends/relatives of mine that go there and they too have noticed the same as I. The hairstylist , I think her name was Nora, she had horrible frizzy dry over processed hair, did what she wanted, took her on advice from the red hair receptionist, had no skills, unprofessional , stuck up, rude, hair was ruined, cut uneven, took over an hour, finally I just got up and said "forget it". Hairstylist didn't even care. Tracy (the owner) station was right next to this stylist's station, was there watching the whole situation and did nothing to intervene, she knew it was a horrible job , I even muttered the words , Tracy just looked over , I knew she agreed with my sentiments , but did nothing. I was a long time customer, used to go to the old location for years , thought I give the new place a try, never, Stylists do what they want, not skilled in the latest hair cuts, unprofessional and very very rude, Please go somewhere else.

Best Massage Ever

Last Saturday, I experienced the most wonderful massage I have ever had. Nancy was spot on with her technique and professionalism. She was not chatty but rather asked questions only to make sure I was comfortable. I cannot recommend her enough!!!!

Great pre-natal massage

Nancy gave a great massage. The room was very calming and she made me feel extremely relaxed. I really enjoy massages where the therapist does not speak. She only spoke if I spoke to her first. She made all of the tension go away and made me want to go back over and over.

BEST EVER Deep Tissue Massage!

Last week I went to Bocci for the first time for a deep tissue massage. I was very impressed with everything from the ambiance, to the front desk workers, and especially the therapist. Nancy was the therapist that gave me an EXCELLENT massage?. actually the best massage I?ve ever had. She applied a lot of deep pressure to get rid of all the tension and knots in my back. I would highly recommend Nancy for anyone looking for a top-notch massage. I can?t wait to go back!

Okay, but not the best and timing is a big issue!

If you read some of the less than 5 starred comments on here you'll realize a consistent problem, timing. I have gone to Bocci's about 3 times now and have,every time, had a 30-45 minute wait from the time I had scheduled the appt! EVERY TIME! The last time was for a wedding I was in and needless to say the woman who did my hair was 30 minutes behind, which put the make-up person behind etc.

The hair stylists are okay, but all 3 I've been to bragged about their skills constantly and I did not see any great results with the hair.

Their make-up person was quick but good in my opinion, but didn't ask me any questions, luckily it turned out okay, I would recommend them for waxing though. The staff is good at that.

im mixed with feelings...

I think that some of the stylists are great they do know up and coming hair and know how to work with the shape of your face/head. but sometimes they seem to not listen to you and still do what they want to which is frustrating when your spending the amount of money you are. Also I agree that they book people too closely sometimes i've had to wait 30 mins for my stylist to complete her last client. which i think was ridiculous! also the girls behind the desk...... they have no customer service skills! some not all are very caddy girls that won't take the time to stop talking to stylists about nothing which i dont think stylists should be behind the desk sitting in chairs telling people they cant help them check in. it frustrates people seeing that many girls behind a desk with no one actually taking the time to help guest whom are there to enjoy a nice experience.

I just think that if you get some of those girls out that think they deserve to be there and replace them with people that work hard and want your business to prosper you guys will become much more sucessful.

i love coming there i love the work the girl that does my hair does but i am dissapointed in the receptionists and the overbooking. its just unprofessional.

Relaxing Massage

I had a wonderful massage last weekend by Nancy. After having a baby not too long ago I finally had time to relax with a massage, given to me for Sweetest Day! It turned out to be the best massage I've ever had! She helped to relax the muscles I used the most on a day to day basis. Carrying a baby around made my shoulders very tight & Nancy helped to relax & stretch those core muscles out. The atmostphere was also very peaceful. Thanks again! Nicole Chidsey
