Not the best. by Trista H. at InsiderPages

I've been a vegetarian since 1995, and have been here a few times in the hopes that they will improve and start offering better fare. No luck. It's all just unremarkable. I love great vegetarian food and wholeheartedly believe in patronizing restaurants that offer it (heck, my husband and I took our honeymoon to Toronto specifically for the vegetarian restaurants!), but I can't justify the cost for the mediocre food. I make better stuff at home, and I'm no chef. I keep wanting to like Seva, that's why I go back and try again. Unfortunately the price helps remind me why I'd stayed away so long, and then the food emphasizes the point. I respect that they're all-vegetarian, really I do. I want to see more vegetarian restaurants. But I can't see this place winning too many converts. It's a pretty atmosphere, though, I'll give them that.
LARGE PORTIONS, COOL WAITSTAFF!

I have been eating at Seva's since 1995 and have NEVER had a small portion of anything. I think I have tried everything on the menu, so has my husband. We've never left hungry. The food is always first-rate yummy!
We have always thought that the waitstaff was very cool. They are not conservative looking, and WE LIKE THAT. Good for them! (We are both 40-somethings and like unique people.) They are all unique and all very well mannered, courteous and polite. Who cares what they look like? Not expensive either, and I'm a cheapskate! Rock on, Seva's
- Pros: Wide variety of choices, vegan and vegetarian; great wine and beer selection
- Cons: there is only one Seva's
Ann Arbor's vegetarian headquarters serves up a world of meatless flavors in an elegant atmosphere.

In Short
The decor is, like Seva's clientele, unassuming and accidentally elegant with stained glass windows and handmade benches mixing with a small jungle of plants and casually strewn pieces of art. The cuisine is innovative and multicultural vegetarian, Italian pastas sharing the menu with North African couscous, curry and several Mexican veggie offerings. In warmer months, sit on the front deck and people-watch.
- Pros: innovative vegetarian

I love this place!!! They have the best vegetarian menu around. The setting is so relaxed, the staff is great and the food is even better. I would reccomend this place to anyone!
PROS: food, staff
CONS: none
Never Disappointed by Amy M. at InsiderPages

As a vegetarian, Seva is somewhat of a paradise where I am overwhelmed with excellent choices. While I have my perennial favorites (Enchiladas Calabaza & Stir Fry with Cilantro-Peanut Sauce), I usually choose something from the specials menu and am never disappointed.
The service is also excellent and the wine flights offer a nice option to sample different wines with the meal. I wish other Ann Arbor restaurants were as consistently good as Seva.

Seva's specialty is that its completely vegetarian. I love meat and am as far from a vegetarian as possible, but the food at Seva impressed me.
When I picture vegetarian food, I imagine boring meals and simple plates. Seva takes vegetarianism to a new level, with vegetarian dishes that even I like.
Seva is definitely a unique experience.
Small Servings? Are you kidding me?

I just read a review for Seva that stated they have received small portions. Hm. That's sort of funny, since I've been going there for years, and have always taken some home. And I have a pretty hearty appetite. I live in Sylvania, OH and will happily make the drive north several times a year to enjoy the eccelctic decor, the courteous waitstaff, the immediate seating and absolutely amazing food. Two enthusiastic thumbs up, you guys! Keep it up!
- Pros: Large portions, Affordable, Prompt and Courteous
Small portions, weird waitstaff

Just because you go to a vegetarian restaurant does not mean that you are not hungry. I've been there several times and I ALWAYS leave hungry and much lighter in my pocketbook. Food is tasty but very small, and prices are too high relative to this. Also, the waitstaff is spacey and weird.
- Pros: Tasty vegetarian
- Cons: Small portions, Pricey for small food, Spacey waitstaff
Yummy Yam Fries

I travel 30 miles just for the yam fries with spicy dip! I try to order a different meal each time, and I've never been disappointed. The prices are reasonable too. An added feature for families: check out the boxes of legos to keep the kids occupied.
