What users are saying:
A great sprawl of ridges, lifts and condos, plus superb, modern snowmaking and grooming.

The Scene
This is a popular and huge, all-inclusive resort with condos everywhere. Because of the resort's superior grooming efforts (92 percent snowmaking coverage), there is so much good skiing for everyone, from beginner to expert.
The Slopes
Oz is an awesome playground for those who take downhill seriously. Ruby Palace is narrow and steep, with natural bumps and little grooming. Carumba in the Jordan Bowl is also recommended. There are seven beautiful glades and slopes such as Last Tango are as challenging as any in New England. Beginners can head to North Peak and drink in the long, slow pleasure of Dream Maker; intermediates can ski at Jordan Bowl's Excalibur; and experts should go directly to Oz or the intimidating and frighteningly steep White Heat. Additions: sledding and snowboarding parks.

Great for Experienced Skiiers

Great mountain for experienced skiiers. This is a "cold" hill and the light goes flat in the mid afternoon making bumps difficult to see, but the slopes are great. This mountain has many challenging trails and intermediate runs.
- Pros: Expert Slopes, Intermediate Slopes, Facilities
- Cons: Icy, grooming, price
Beginner to Expert

I also learned to ski at Sunday River, and I had a wonderful experience. The instructors were fabulous, and I was on skis in a few hours. I go there at least once a year, and never get bored. With seven mountains, you can spend a week there and not hit every trail. The place is great for everyone from beginners to experts, with basic trails at the South Ridge to the most difficult ones like White Heat.
- Pros: Excellent Ski School, Diverse Trails, Big
- Cons: Gets Crowded
Should be Top 10!

Sunday River is by far the best skiing in the Northeast. They have a ton of trails, everything from green circles to double black diamonds, moguls, you name it. Their Perfect Turn Learn to Ski program is amazing, whether you're a beginner, or working your way up the mountain and just need a confidence boost. And what could be better than staying in a condo, waking up in the morning, and hitting the trails while they're still empty!?! And the whole place, from restaurants to rentals, has a smile waiting for you!!
