Lousy!

First of all make sure you wear sweats unless you want to smell like teriyaki sauce. The chefs prepare the meal at your table but you end up smelling like what you ordered.

Waiters are nice but please choose to sit at the head of the table to avoid the smoke. The food itself isn't that great especially that MSG water they call onion soup! As my mother put it, the only thing good was the beer.

Always great!

Bisuteki is fabulous! I started coming here when I was about 7 years-old. Through the years I have kept coming back. It's the perfect "first date" special occasion, or "dying for something different" place. The wait can be long, that said it is totally worth it! From the soup to the ice cream, everything is delicious and always fresh. Because your food is cooked directly in front of you, you can control the use of sauce, seasonings, and cook times. This prevents you from finding a plate of food you don't like in front of you. My Boyfriend and I go a few times a month. Try it, you will love it!

  • Pros: Great food, atmosphere, drinks.
  • Cons: LONG wait, parking can be difficult.

Delicious Delicious Food

The chefs are very friendly and provide entertainment while cooking. The food is delicious. They cook it right in front of you - so you can see how fresh it is - shrimp, scallops, chicken, steak, and swordfish. The fried rice is delicious. Most meals come with soup, salad and vegetables that they cook in front of you, and a few flavors of icecream. They give you large portions of food. I usually take a doggie bag home - the waitservice, up to and including the busboys are very polite. My boyfriend and I come a few times per month.

Awful experience

by kburns433 at Citysearch

From the unbelievably rude hostess to the piss poor food, this was by far the worst dining experience my wife and I have had in Boston in over two years. The food was terrible oily and just very, very disappointing and we love Japanese steakhouses. The chef was also very boring for this type of dining. Highly recommended......you go somewhere else.

  • Pros: zero
  • Cons: bad service, bad food, bad price

great value

by Bonniemerc at Citysearch

I like to treat the restaurant like a Durkin Park and enjoy talking to the people around me. The purpose of the soup is to prepare your digestion system for the meal it is not meant to be delicious in itself. The salad dressing is something I would like to be able to purchase. My meal partner and I usually order different dishes and the cook graciously divides the portion and puts half on each plate. Ginger or rainbow sherbet is a nice closure to the meal and they do provide doggie bags. The meal is a great value but even more so if you have the entertainment card. This restaurant is our reason for purchasing a FEW of the books each year.

Nothing special

by theduke37 at Citysearch

The onion soup was MSG water with some fried onions thrown in. You might want to think about taking a pass. The salad was fresh and the dressing was excellent. The hibachi chef was a friendly guy and fun as always, but the quality of the sauces and cooking was average at best. The ginger ice cream is very good.

Service was pretty spotty, they were badly understaffed and the waitress was extremely flustered.

We used our Entertainment Card, which saved us $20 off a $58 check, but unless you have something like that, there is not much value.
