Unlawful and Unprofessional Be aware

These people that works for Delta Managment has to be the worse people in history. They call call and call with alot of threating messages. They threatin to take me court before finding out what was going on and trying to make payment arrangements with my student loans. They ask for some off the wall payments with a demand. Try to either get a lawyer or get your loans turned over to another company.

The lady who worked with me was very nice, though I didnt agree with her trying to get to personal with my life. Their service should be maintained on a proffesional level and not try to get to personal. She was great with working out the payment details. However, she asked for a large payment at first to pay off the "interest'. At first I didnt think anything of it. But now I am hearing that collection copanies cant ask for 'down payments' like that, so I am going to research it and find out if it is against the law for her to ask that of me.

But, all in all, she worked around my abilities to pay what I can. She was nice and not at all rude. I dont like the fact that I am not getting any statements from them. So I have to call and find out why not and to make sure I DO get statement from them. I have proof from my credit card statement showing I made the payment but I want documentation from them as well.

A General Review of the Negative Comments

First of all, your bound by contract with whichever company or esp. if a federal loan, to provide them with current info about your place of employment, contact numbers, references, income, etc. You signed a contract and you agreed to keep them informed with the current details. So why the complaint about something you signed for?

Second, if it's really everyday, call and ask for a manager since contacts (messages left and verbal contacts - no your phone ringing) can be no more than twice in a week at home and once a week at work (In MA - your state laws may vary).

Why are the calls harassing? Because they're calling you to pay your debt that you owe or another reason. They record all lines and hold the recordings, so if they're breaking the law contact your state's Atty General.

Also, have you explored the option of getting prepaid cards or opening a free checking? There are lots of places that do checking accounts with no chex systems or bureau reports. And what are you talking about "turn of century?" Delta accepts all major credit cards, checks over the phone, Western Unions, mail-in payments, money grams, and online payments. Plus, most collection agencies charge a fee for this; Delta does not.

You say that the calls are harassing, but don't state what was said that makes it harassing. A little clarity would be nice.

And finally, you're right, "nobody wants to owe anyone money," but Delta does work with people. Unfortunately, collection agencies can't give everyone the plan they want; the payment arrangements are determined by the client. With student loans, esp federal ones, there are very specific plans that cannot be deviated from.

Easy stuff.

They deffinetly called me a lot and I ignored it because I didn't know who it was. Well, when I finally answered it was a collection agency saying I had an outstanding balance that I compleatly forgot about. She was very kind, helpful and informative. All they wanted was to do their job which unfortunatly ment me spending money. Don't get mad at them for doing their job because you dont feel like spending your money. If they are rude that is one thing but dont get angry because you have to pay back money that you OWE.

Paying Back

At first I was extremely angry that a collection agency was calling me. How dare they call me and make my personal information public I thought !!!!!!!

Well, as it turned out it was'nt all bad...The "personal information" they had was provided to Delta by the college I owed the money to and Delta was trying to collect it on their behalf.

Delta Management was professional, direct and hate to say it "kind" in helping me with the many options to pay the money I owed to the college. I am now on payment arrangments and they call me once a month to remind me of my obligation. I welcome the friendly reminder.

So rude

Ok, so I did owe the money to Charter One Bank. But only because I was never made aware that there would be a 72 Hour hold on all of my company paychecks. So it only took a month to have piled up over $200.00 in insufficient fund fees. So....Delta Management gets involved, I was called every other day for over 2 months by an automated recording. I made a cashiers check out for the total amount and sent it in. 3 days after sending payment I received yet ANOTHER phone call while I ws at work. The "representative" whom I spoke with was abrasive and rude, asking me when I was going to pay and how. So he started to rant about Citizens bank, and thats when I got into into his butt! If you knew what you were even calling about then you would know the debt is not for Citizens Bank, it was for Charter One and its been paid in full on this date and at this time! He got quiet and apologized for being rude, and that he would be sure that his manager would send me a notice of payoff. Which I have yet to receive, of course they can not email or fax anything over, it has to be by postal mail. They are definently trained to bark...they are rude and have little common sense.

  • Cons: Attitude, professionalism, lack of facts, time to respond to pay off, i could go on.

garnishing my wages

I think the company did a good service for me, I admit like the rest of us we just ignore the letters and calls.

What I didn't realize is.....If you owe a Federal Student loan they can garnish your wages without going to court. I know this because after ignoring the calls my pay check got tagged. I then called my lawyer who said yes a federal debt gives them permission to garnish my check. They also per the contract can demand the balance as I defaulted. Hey, lets face it, as much as I hate getting the calls it really was my fault for not paying my bills.

I did call to try and work it out, and although they continue to garnish my check, they were very professional

to me.

This is the worst customer service I have ever come across!!!!!

Delta Management, needs to teach their employees some manners. They wouldn't like it if somebody talked to their mother, sister, brother, or father in such a lude manner. The man that called me was an butt hole! He was very ignorant, and shouldn't be allow to work in customer service at all! I am a hard working mother, whose boyfriend lost his job. I don't have any help at all and they don't care!!! They don't care if you try or what your situation is. They are inconsiderate, and need to be put out of business. They can't even give a person credit for trying. The other douche who called me told me, what would be so wrong with the government taking my taxes. When I replied that I needed them, they said that I should get another job or borrow the money. What kind of dumb butt hole advice is that? Don't they realize that if people had the money they would pay their bills? What a bunch of douches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible Business & Unfair Practices

This company pays their employees to Harass and degrade the people they are collecting debts from. I also have an outstanding school loan that and contact Delta to make the arrangements. The woman I spoke to was getting into to many personal details regarding the major I was pursuing and told me to get a second job before she knew that I was a single mom with an infant daughter and having a second job was out of the question. I mistakenly gave her my cell phone and work number for their records which they later in turn used it to contact me everyday to see when my payment was going to be sent in the mail. Luckily i have since received a promotion and changed my cell phone carrier so i no longer have those numbers or the harrassing phone calls.

This company lacks in practical billing payments also. I have to send a money order to a P.O. box and i do not receive any billing statements. I also do not have an online account to access to make online payments or check the status of whether my payments have been received or not. I hate the company and wish they would get on the band wagon with the turn of the century. I understand their job is to collect outstanding debt but money does not fall from the sky and harassment will not make any more green appear so my suggestion to them is "RELAX"! Nobody wants to owe anyone money, so work with the people not against them.

Very condisending, Rude, judgemental, horrible customerservice!!!

I called to settle a debt. I was out of work due to my child becoming disabled!!! Bills piled up, but I was trying to get back on track. The person I spoke with was very rude. I called them!!!! I wanted to get my life back! They where not compromising, the person would not let me get a word in edgewise. I felt as though they where judging me. People have things happen in their life that they can not control. The person was so rude I had to hang up. I was being treated like I was a criminal. Not helpful, very disrespectful, and not flexable. I would not recomend using these people for any business. They are not trained well in customer service. i have nothing nice to say about how I was treated, and how horrible they spoke to me. It's unprofessional to talk down to someone and to have no compassion!!! Most people have a few bills that have to be put off for one reason or another. Sick child, car repair, food, prescriptions, single parent, loss of job, loss of home, not enough income to pay everything they need. I choose to feed my child and to buy her medication than to pay an outstanding bill! It will still be outstanding if I pay it because moste likely what I am spending on food and medication will not reduce my debt enough to bring me current. Have a heart, know that people get in to situations and most of us would like to rectify them, we just need a little understanding and guidence. You can put people off by being so cold and callus!!! Remeber you catch more bees with honey than you do vinagar!
