VERY ROMANTIC and AMAZING FOOD
by notipyties at Citysearch
my boyfriend and i went here on our anniversary. the food was VERY good and the wait staff was very knowledgable and new what i was going to ask almost before i asked it. The decor is very romantic. we got a little table nestled into a corner that was very nice. The bathrooms were unisex andi couldnt help but take out my camera and snap pictures of the beautiful and amazingly colorful wallpaper. Sanngria is yummy and food once and is delicious. There were some crazy things on the menu buit also a good variety for a picky pallette. Go here with a boy/girl friend or first date. lots to talke about. and they DO take reservations. make them the second they open. it wont be busy then but it will get busy by the time your ready to leave. I dont know how the atmosphere changes on the weekend but i suggest going on a weeknight.
- Pros: food,drink,decor, waitstaff, reservations
- Cons: get there early around 530 when they open. it will get crowded by 630
Romantic atmosphere
by shamrock91576 at Citysearch
Dali is one of the most romantic restaurants I've been to. Granted, it can get loud in there when it's crowded, but you can get over that once you start enjoying the amazing food. There's no particular dish that I recommend, since everything I had was scrumptious. Perfect if you want to impress your date, but not too sure about large parties, since it's not terribly big in there.
- Pros: Food, atmosphere, sangria
- Cons: Not a lot of parking
Just simply fun
by urbantemp at Citysearch
Yes, it is dark, the portions are small, but it is just so much fun!! You walk in and instantly feel transported to another world. Go when it is busy (and it gets busy fast fast fast upon opening early every evening) since it has the most charm and buzz then (though you might wait awhile). Your food comes out pretty quickly I must say as they place dish after dish you've orderd on your table and the servers are definitely charming and fun. Not really quiet by any means, everyone is there to have some fun. Order some sangria, round up some great friends and family and you will have a blast. It's also a fun place to take a first date as there is definitely something to talk about when ordering. My family loves to go whenever they visit cambridge and it's definitely one of the gems in the cambridge area even if the masses have found out about it. It's still the same since i first went 4 years ago and i've been about 10 times since. It can get a little pricey, especially if ordering lots of tapas and the expensive pitchers of sangria, but worth it in the name of good company.
- Pros: fun date spot, quick service, consistent food
- Cons: sometimes noisy, no reservations for small groups
AMAZING Tapas
by delllane at Citysearch
There are so many reasons to love Dali! The charming staff, the colorful and interesting decor, the fact that it's nestled in a seemingly unlikey spot between Union and Harvard. But let's face it, it's the inspired food that has everyone coming back. This week I had the chance to taste tapas from their autumnal menu (regularly rotating specials menu based on food that is in season) including delicious swordfish skewers. We also got classics from the main menu.
Couple tips: get the white apparatus, the fried cheese with honey, scallops in saffron cream sauce and the paella. Culinary delights, trust me. The restaurant is great for dates or catching up with friends. A cozy, great escape from downtown Boston and worth the trip. Since they don't take reservations I suggest making early dinner plans and get there around 6:30/7ish. There usually isn't a wait at that time.
- Pros: Inspired Menu, Spirited Decor
- Cons: Long Waits
Good food, horrible waits
by sje1178 at Citysearch
While I have no complaints about the food at Dali, the lack of reservations and incredibly long waits (even on a weeknight) makes it an impossible dining destination. Even on a Monday night, the wait was upwards of 45 minutes. The call ahead service is useless too as there was no wait upon calling and 45 minutes upon arriving (on a Monday night), even after leaving my name. This is the second time in a row that I experienced this situation.
While I feel the food and atmosphere are good, there are other equally good dining destinations where the odds of getting a table are much more certain. Until the restaurant can offer some sort of reservation, it simply is not worth the effort.
- Pros: Interesting food, nice atmosphere
- Cons: No reservations, very long waits
Don't cry for me, Sangria!
by jbsquared at Citysearch
The truth is I love this restaurant! The tapas, sangria, and atmosphere are the reason I keep coming back year after year- and I live in NJ! I love the lively and adorable servers- they know their stuff! The food is different and spectacular. I think the atmosphere is my fav though- it is like you are walking into a Dali painting! Funkadelic- or should I say...funk-a-DALIc!
- Pros: hands down- the best!
Great Cambridge hype, not so hyped food

Food was fair, service was fantastic. but for all the amazing things that I have heard, i was sorely disappointed. I will return, to try again, hopefully i will be proved wrong.
- Pros: service, location, date spot
- Cons: food
One of the best restaurants I have been to
by julboston at Citysearch
I was introduced to Dali by a friend mine and I must say that I had a wonderful experience. The tapas were delicious. The service was personalized and very friendly. I recommend it to anyone who wants to go out on a romantic date and celebrate. They really go out of their way to make your birthday special.
I will be back to this restaurant for sure
- Pros: everything
One of our all-time favorites
by evinza at Citysearch
My husband and I have been to Dali countless times, and we love it. The atmoshere is festive and lively with gorgeous, creative and fun decor. The staff is always friendly and efficient. And the food -- wow. Our favorites are the pork tenderloin with blue cheese (to die for), the squid in its own ink, the garlic shrimp, the white asparagus, and the spanish cheese (out of this world). But I don't think we've ever had a bad dish there -- all dishes are creative and authentic with amazing depth of flavor. Don't forget to save some bread (or ask for more) to sop up all the sauces after you've finished the tapas. And also don't miss out on the Pescado a la Sal, one of their platos principales -- the fish is so tender if practically melts in your mouth.
- Pros: food, atmosphere
- Cons: the wait for a table is often very long
The best Spanish around town
by 11189 at Citysearch
Hands down, this is the most authentic Spanish restaurant around town. The food is delicious. There are abundant hot and cold tapas to choose from that are all terrific. I'd recommend the sizzling Shrimp Garlic, and the Scallops in Safron cream. The latter is absolutely out of this world. The paella is the best I've had in the U.S since my last trip to Spain. I've been to many tapas and Spanish places in Boston like Taberno de Haro and Tapeo and they are not in the same league as Dali. They are overpriced and service is below average. The service at Dali is impeccable. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable. The price is just right. The decor is very cool. You'd feel like you're dinning in Toledo or Barcelona. An absolute must place to dine at.
- Pros: Food, Decor, Service
