Just your typical bowling alley by Jennifer F. at InsiderPages

Lanes and Games is your typical bowling alley - no fancy bells and whistles here. They offer candlepin lanes as well as regular big ball bowling so you have your choice of games. I've been there several times and have never had to wait for a lane. Good place if you live in the area and feel like playing a few frames.
Old-school bowling alley provides lanes and video games for kids and adults.

In Short
Two floors of fun feature 34 candlepin lanes, 20 tenpin lanes, three pool tables, and a game room packed with plenty of pinball machines and video games. Each lane features automatic scoring and a TV. Burgers, pizza, salads, and more are available in the restaurant/lounge for fuel. Kids can be included in everything--the game room has plenty of milk crates so even the smallest can reach the pinball machines.
Rude and Nasty

I've been to Lanes & Games a handful of times, but it'll be a long time before I go back. Each time I go, I have a worse customer service experience than the time before. I never expected great service, but I wish they would at least pretend that they want my business. During my last visit, the guys at the desk could scarcely be bothered to put my name on the waiting list for a lane. They seemed frustrated with me for being there. The wait was about 40 minutes, during which time I thought I'd have a drink at the bar, which I eventually got, but only after managing to get myself growled at by the bartender for absolutely no reason other than that I was there, asking for a drink. It seems they were busy and could care less if I got what I wanted. At one point, while I was waiting, I made the mistake of wandering too close to the front desk. I know it was a mistake because I was quickly scolded and instructed to move back into the bar area so as not to crowd the desk. Then, someone at the desk recognized a guy who was waiting for a lane and said "hey, you should of told me you were here, I would've moved you up on the list" and then promptly assigned the guy a lane despite the fact that I had been waiting longer. It was 20 minutes more before I got a lane. I can't really think of many places I've been to that go this far out of their way to express their resentment toward their customers. I guess they can get away with it because they can afford to be that way, and they really don't care. Must be nice for them.
- Pros: Lots of lanes, Parking
- Cons: Service, Wait, Crowded, Rude
RUDE!

I can't believe the management!
Went in on a monday and never could get a lane for normal bowling (the wait was hours and we decided to play candlepin). So, for a birthday party of 18 people we tried to reserve some lanes. Instead of a polite "Not possible," the manager was unneccesarily rude and made a complete fool of himself acting like we were attacking him with our request.
It does not break our hearts to never return to this out-of-date, over-priced alley.
Also, the food is pretty bad even by bowling alley standards!
- Pros: Has a few lanes of normal ten pin bowling
- Cons: Management, lanes in horrible condition, wait times
Greatest Bowling in Boston area

With the demise of the Wal-Lex, Lanes & Games is the best bowling alley around. Unlike the pretentious downtown bowling alleys, Lanes & Games is bowling old school style. Sure you may have to wait to get a ball that will fit you right but you can just kill Mich Ultras and practice palming the ball.
Overall this is the place to go if you want to have a chill night out.
Best of Everything

This is the best bowling alley in the Boston area by far. Retro furnishings, great video games including a lot of old favorites, great food and lots of 10 pins lanes (which are hard to find in New England). The wait can be long if you come on the weekend or a busy night but that is at every bowling alley, its worth the wait, very reasonable rates. The food is surprisingly good too, I recommend the steak tips or pulled pork, even the club sandwich is a great value. This place blows the local trendy, martini bowling alley wannabees out of the water!
- Pros: great lanes, great prices, easy parking
- Cons: busy times, need a car to access

Unless you enjoy waiting a long time in a dingy, old alley with mediocre equipment and rude service, steer clear of this joint. Sorry excuse for an alley.
