Quaint Town

What made it unique or special?We stayed here back in October when I went home (Boston) because we got a excellent rate (Historical Hotels of America employee rate) we stayed out in a Cottage which was a bit spooky but it worked and it had a large kitchen a separate room with 2 twin beds PERFECT for a family and the main bedroom had a four poster queen size bed that sit it what used to be a living room I am guessing. This cottage is a duplex and we stayed on the lower level so we could here our neighbors above us periodically through the night.

The cottage is away from the main building so keep this in mind if you are staying during the cold winter months. The restaurant does not have room service so you can buy what you like as a "take out" and bring it back to your room. I would say overall I liked the location and it sits in a quaint town that has delightful restaurants which you can walk to if you do not wish to eat at the inn. It was hard to find due to directions given on mapquest so I would suggest going to either the Inn website for directions or Google maps.

The pub has a live band in on some evenings so if making reservations be sure to ask where your room is located in regards to where the pub is.

Historic Inn in the heart of America's birthplace

Love this Inn. Beautiful, cozy, and romantic. Alway great food, especially Sunday Brunch Buffet, Live music every night-best thing- no cover charge, good afternoon tea and family friendly restaurant..... House onced belong to Henry David Thoreau. Hosted lots of celebraties in the past. (built 1716 )is real Colonial Yankee Inn

Journey to colonial America in a prime sightseeing location.

The Scene
While this building has been operating as a hotel since 1889, it has been in existence since 1716. Throughout the property's 300-year history, it has served as a private residence and hosted the likes of Henry David Thoreau and B.F. Skinner. You will be hard-pressed to find a more genuine colonial experience. A stay here assures easy access to area favorites such as the Concord Museum, Ralph Waldo Emerson House and Minute Man National Historical Park.

The Details
Accommodations range from standard guest rooms to suites to apartments. The hardwood floors are original, and additional authentic colonial furnishings include beamed ceilings and handmade quilts. All rooms have private baths and give a nod to the 21st century with luxuries such as Internet access. Four different restaurants serve all meals plus brunch, afternoon tea and pub fare.
