Older gentlemen there is a scam artist
1 Star Rating: Not Recommended

Brought in my car to ask if brakes needed to be replaced (they weren't making any noise, but my records indicated they hadn't been replaced in a while, so I wanted to verify). Without taking off wheels, older gentlemen pointed out something that he said were the pads and told me all four brakes were nonexistent. Then he told me that I could replace them or not, my choice. That made me suspicious as any reputable mechanic would never let you leave without a fight with four nonexistent brakes. Took the car to very highly rated shop in Ballard on Leary, and they immediately removed wheels to inspect. Then they took me out to show me the pads, including how they measure them with a gage, and told me that there was 80% left on front and 50% on rears. At least the older gentlemen is a scam artist. Shame on him. Can't comment on other mechanic.

Pros: any insignificant pros are overshadowed by blatant attempt to scam people

Cons: Blatant attempt to solicit unnecessary work
