I have eaten at kitchen 233 three times, hoping each time i returned it would be better. Sadly, each time it got worse!! on one occasion my steak was served cold and our server did not seem too concerned with the issue. The food is definitely not worth the price and would not recommend it
- Pros: nice dining area
- Cons: service, food, price
Very Dissapointing
by citycycler at Citysearch
We went on a Friday with a gift certificate for $25. The service was mediocre ( when asking the waitress what the "Grappe" martini tasted like..she replied "a grape".) At the end of the minimal portion meal, they added a 20% tip because we used a gift certificate. We always tip that amount, I just thought it was a "tacky" move to "get back their money". I'll never go again..
- Pros: Nice Atmosphere
- Cons: Price, attitude
South Jersey's hidden gem

After a friend suggested it to me, i decide to give Kitchen 233 a try. I went on a Thursday night and the front bar was totally full. We ate in the open air dining room which was also quite crowded given the beautiful weather(unlike the main dining room). The two of us were given a nice corner table that had a nice view of the gardens. The restaurant was a bit noisy but not so loud as to deafen conversation. I started with a delicious spinach and pear salad, which had a wonderfu hot bacon dressing. It sounds odd but it perfectly complimented the salad. The salad was huge and I think it could serve as an entire meal if perhaps topped with grilled chicken. For my main course I choose the four mustard salmon, which was out of this world. The sauce provided a wonderful flavor without being overwhelming, and was served over fingerling potatoes and green beans. Wine selection by the glass was nice and the best part is the knowledge of the servers, I had a pinot noir that the server suggested with my meal. My companion enjoyed his meal equally as much. We were excited to find such a wonderful place so close to home! Great job Kitchen, we can't wait to bring our friends back.
- Pros: food quality, service, romantic atmosphere
- Cons: noise a bit loud.

"Happy Anniversary" by free2bmemb
August 10, 2008 - We celebrated our anniversary there, we got a discount gift certificate from another website so we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleased with the decor and the experience was nothing short of FANTASTIC. Our server Nina ,had a great personality and her service was superb. We ordered a New York strip with crab and Wild Alaskan Halibut and they both were excellent. We also tried their signature martini made with Vodka and infused with pineapples. WOW !! Davine!! We recommend this restaurant.,highly 5 stars.
- Pros: Ambience, service, cocktails and food
- Cons: Need a baked potato on the menu

Restaurant, bar and lounge serving up delicious American-style cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.
fresh seafood fun atmosphere

Kitchen 233 is a great find! The atmosphere is welcoming and fun and the staff is friendly. The bartender (young, female, blonde) helped us choose a light pinot noir from the substantial selection and allowed us to sample the two different ones 'on tap'. It has a wonderful menu with plenty to choose from both for seafood eaters and also for those who want meat. We enjoyed appetizers including the cheese plate which came with several different cheeses from around the world, homemade breads, and little jams and honey to accompany. The kona crusted filet tips were also wonderful. The meat was tender and the flavor added to the dish and was not over powering. The Ahi tuna entree was cooked perfectly. This is a wonderful spot to stop for a great glass of wine and a delicious meal to pair with it.
- Pros: ambience, wine selections, friendly service
- Cons: lighting a bit dim
Disappointment on Mothers Day
by twopin at Citysearch
We went to Kitchen 233 on MOTHERS DAY. Big mistake. We overheard waitress telling the party behind us they were out of profiteroles (and it was 5:15!). My dining companion's key lime pie martini and my chocolate martini arrived in a non-frosted, plain martini glass. His glass was supposed to be rimmed in graham-cracker crumbs; it was not. Both were unspectacular. Waitress was very hesitant when asked questions, always answering with an unsure attitude. One of our dining companions had the "fire and ice", which consisted of two very small lobster claws on top of filet mignon. Companion was disappointed in tiny amount of lobster, and at $32.95 he expected more.
Next time, we'll go where we are never disappointed: Giumarello's.
- Cons: Poor service, drinks not presented properly, small portions
Horrible

I guess I went on the wrong night! Monday - Wednesday the place is totally empty, Thursday a few people, Friday & Saturday crowded and Sunday closed. If you are not dressed to the 'nines' they will seat you at the bar, bring ear plugs it is so loud. If you are dressed almost to the 'nines' they seat you in their cinderblock room they call the outdoor lounge. If you are completely dressed, you will actually be seated in the dining room. The level of service follows the 'class' levels of the three dining areas. Make sure if the owner is there, you tell him you only live in Haddonfield, if you live any where else in south Jersey he considers you 'white trash.' Don't drive there unless you have a high-end European car, my Lincoln wasn't good enough, go figure.
As for the food..........homemade????? I guess that is why Sysco is delivered every morning. (I work across the street and have seen the trucks make their deliveries)! For the price, the food is horrible. Go down the street to "Cork" if you want a great meal for less money!
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: EVERYTHING
Love the Addition!

I have now been to Kitchen 233 twice and it has been wonderful on both occasions. We enjoy their very extensive selection of wines by the glass, which are kept in their unique temperature controlled system. The first time I went was on a Tuesday and we were able to be seated promptly (without a reservation). My Potato-horseradish crusted Halibut was to die for! My husband ordered the flank steak which was juicy and flavorful and served with a mountain of hand-cut fries. We split a spinach and pear salad which had a delecious hot bacon dressing. For dessert our server Stephanie recommended the warm chocolate souffle, advising us it was her favorite even though it took 11 minutes to prepare. This dessert is WELL worth the wait, I find myself craving it all the time! My second experience at Kitchen 233 was on a Friday night and we did not have a reservation, so we ate in the new lounge area the hostess recommended. The room is like something out of New York with a gas fireplace and abundant couches. We sampled several appetizers, the most outstanding being the Kona Coffee Filet Tips. Wonderful! We will definitely be going back in the near future.
- Pros: Atmosphere, fresh seafood, bar/lounge scene
- Cons: small parking lot
Top of my list!

Romantic dinner for 2 never tastes better! Great evening with high levels of customer satisfaction - The cocktails were to die for setting up our palates, the appetizer of mussels were exquisite coupled with the blue chimay and the surf n turf for him, and the ahi tuna for her were cooked perfectly. Went nicely with our New Zealand Sauv Blanc to top it off.
Service was prompt, efficient and the servers were very customer driven. We were seated promptly, our candles were lit, tables wiped and re-set and we were surprised to have our chairs pulled out for us.
All in all, I can't wait until they open for lunches so I can take the office people out for a well earned luncheon.
Keep up the good work 233!!
- Pros: Parking a plenty, nice restrooms and back patio coming soon
- Cons: Needs decent background music
