give yourself time to linger

This is my first review, and I could think of no other place more deserving than this charming neighborhood cafe. The atmospere is casual at the Rosewood. The food, wine selection and service all combine to create a classy experience which is unique compared to other places in the area. Although the menu is limited, the items I have tasted have all been delicious. I recommend the ham and brie with a salad of fresh greens. It will fill you up without putting you into a coma. The service has always been friendly without being intrusive, and you will often see the owner himself out in the dining room serving tables. In addition to the good food and service, the Rosewood has added appeal in that the dining room walls are adorned with the work of local artists. Entire collections by a single artist are displayed for viewing and purchase, usually for a few weeks at a time. The ever-changing decor and the idea of supporting deserving local artists are two more reasons to make this cafe a regular destination.
I recommend stopping by on a weekend afternoon for lunch and a glass of wine. Because the crowd is usually light around this time (1 - 3 pm), I also suggest taking the time to order another glass of wine while perusing the newest collection on display.
- Pros: support a very deserving local business, perfect for a first date
- Cons: not enough outdoor seating
great neighborhood place

Although the food menu is a bit limited, everything that I've had on it is quite excellent. They focus mostly on sandwiches, but all of their hot meals are also excellent (try their homemade mac & cheese). The wine selection is extensive, and they have an educated selection of beer choices. While small, there is both an indoor and outdoor section, and the decor is charming.
- Pros: great food, great wine selection, local small business
- Cons: limited menu
