The Homestead

by dana jackson at Citysearch

This place is like everything you ever dreamed. In the winter there is nothing cozier than this old fashion winter wonderland that is bery upscale. In the summer there is so much to do, that you can't do anywhere else - yet the setting is so relaxing. The staff at this resort truly understand how to make you feel at home. From vacations and family reunions, to corporate meetings and get aways, I don't think I could find a better place to go. You are truly missing out if you skip The Homestead!

How lucky are we

by chrismelia at Citysearch

My wife and I found the Homestead Resort on the Sundance Web sight. We stayed there during the film festivale and had a great time. We were glad to be out of the crazy PC atmosphere. We brought some friends beck to the resort for dinner at Simon's restaurant and they wished they stayed there. From the front desk to the staff at both restaurants we were taken care of. And Wow the food and service at Simon's ws world class. We have been back just for a get a way once since.

  • Pros: Quality of Service, Food, the crater
  • Cons: Transportation to PC, lack of night life

This spa's romantic Victorian setting and leisurely treatments will take you to a simpler place.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
You won't be sauntering down to the Homestead Resort Spa for a last-minute manicure, but its remote, country-town location is part of the draw. The building is a century-old home and is part of the larger Homestead Resort complex. Delightful Victorian decor, like antique bureaus and rugs, adorns all seven treatment rooms. Feel free to sip on tea in the lounge area--a converted sunroom with wicker furniture and sprawling plants.

The Services
Think old-fashioned relaxation in the form of milk baths, manicures and massages. The spa is known particularly for its massages, offering everything from craniosacral to shiatsu varieties. Treatments are leisurely because they can be--it isn't unusual to have the entire facility to yourself. If you're a guest at the resort, you'll receive a small discount on most services. If you're just there for the day, make the most of your stay and take advantage of one of the many treatment packages, some of which are customized for wedding parties.

The Details
Whirlpool, soaking tub, cold plunge, exercise equipment. Massage, body treatments, wet treatments, facials, hair removal, manicure/pedicure, full service salon.

Condos at the Homestead

by ccabek at Citysearch

After not staying at the Homestead for at least 6 years, our family went over Mother's day weekend.

We had 5 people, so I rented a condo.

It was lovely.......and if you divide up the cost between two families, or groups....it comes out to the price of a regular room.

Clean lovely, View......very wonderful, very updated!

  • Pros: double car garage, wonderful master suit, romantic
  • Cons: heating system sucks, no extra garbage bags, more trash baskets

A nice, quick getaway

by foodfanatic at Citysearch

We stayed at the Homestead to take advantage of their summer specials. The complex is small, easily navigated by foot. Our room was clean and very comfortable- a good value for the price we paid. Simon's restaurant was surprising. I expected "hotel food" but were were treated to an inventive menu with some good values. Sunday brunch was quite ample. The only turn-off I had was when I saw the omelette guy eating at his station, then touching his utensils. When I made note of it to the waitress, she was visibly upset and took appropriate action. Expect great service here- they seem to pride themselves on it.

  • Pros: nice scenery, good service, some good menu values
