Excellent. Decent beds/rooms, good breakfast included, internet included, laundry on-site, friendly staff - would stay here again. rooms did smell like chemical cleaners and windows don't open so we couldn't air it out.

This slightly off-the-beaten path hotel offers comfortable accommodations for budget travelers.. The Scene
Located three miles from downtown Boston, Tage Inn features 148 spacious rooms (24 suites) that cater to family travel needs, including two-room suites that have an extra pull-out queen sofa bed and a mini-refrigerator and microwave for in-room meals. The motel-quality decor and furnishings may run on the cheap side, but the affordable rates and amenities make up for them.

The Details
All rooms have a coffeemaker, hair dryer, ironing board, cable TV, dual telephone lines with voice mail and data ports for high-speed Internet access (additional fee). Freebies include complimentary continental breakfast, cable channels such as HBO and ESPN, local phone calls, parking, a fitness center and spa and a courtesy shuttle to public transportation.

Outstanding value!!!. The Inn is an undiscovered gem. Clean, spacious rooms at an unbelievable bargin. They have a friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. The shuttle is very convenient and on time! 2 minute to T, and 10 minutes to Boston via the T. We thourghly enjoyed our stay in early November.

Extremely respectful staff. Amazing! The best hotel stay in New England during my family vacation. I had booked various hotels through the Internet and was surprised to find out that non-smoking was not a guarantee. Upon arrival they were completely sold out and were able to get me & my family into a nonsmoking room and happy to assist us. (I wish the other hotels had done the same) I'm not sure what type of training they provide for the employees but this staff gets A+ for conflict resolution and A+ for customer service. They also had the cleanest rooms and a wonderful breakfast. The complimentary transportation was a bonus.

They only way this could have been better is if it was free! (Although I would have been willing to pay more)

Cell phone anyone?. The journey from the train station to this hotel was all but enjoyable. There are shuttle pick-ups every 1/2 hr and this schedule was hardly followed. You can't imagine the number of calls I had to make to get them to just come pick us up. And if you don't have a cell phone or spare change, good luck getting to the hotel. The hotel was clean and rooms were spacious, but for the price and inconvience, you're better off at a hotel in downtown boston.

Excellent value. My friends and I stayed here in July 2002. One friend happened to find a coupon and we got the first night for $89. We had 5 people in a double queen room, and they rolled in a cot at no extra charge for the 5th person. The staff was extremely helpful, especially the shuttle drivers (they gave us great recommendations and mini-tours of the Bunker Hill area on our way to the pier to catch the water taxi--also their recommendation over taking the T). Breakfast was great, too. I will definitely stay here again when we visit Boston.

peppy. The people that work at the Tage Inn really care everyone is so pleasant and nice to talk with. If there is anything you would like to see or do around the boston area, just ask the front desk agents and they will not only give you idea's the will help with the travel arrangments. Great place.

The Exceptional Inn. Our family recently stayed at the Tage Inn in Somerville and I must tell everyone that the place is exceptional in everyway. The customer service is the best we have ever encountered at any hotel regardless of price. The hotel quality and amenities were of a value and quality much higher than the rates that were charged. We would highly recommend the hotel to anyone that is considering a trip to Boston. Believe us you'll be in for a pleasant stay. We will be staying there again and again and again. Thanks Tage Inn for making our first trip to Boston great.
