everything was great
by lengaskill
We went for lunch on sunday and had a wonderful time. The food was very delicious and the waitstaff was extremely courtious. The food is all prepared fresh so don't be in a hurry. We met one of the owners also and she was very nice. We loved it so much that we are going back next sunday for dinner even though we come from New Jersey. We'll keep you posted.
Great British pub! Great food, great beer and cider!

The place to get British grub and brews in Delaware, no one else comes close in our area. Authentic and delicious!
- Pros: Incredible fish and chips, top beers
- Cons: None!
Great British food & family friendly

We took the kids for dinner and all of us had a great night. We all loved the food! The kids thought the music and sports on the huge flat panels were "cool". And they loved the famous photos of musicians on the wall with the owner. I know another reviewer complained about the wait, but really it wasn't that long. I appreciated the fresh, real food for my family and I'll take that over instant imitation any time! Stoneys just found some new regulars!
- Pros: Fun atmosphere & great fresh food!
- Cons: I ate too much! It's too good to put down!
Great atmosphere

Yeah, it usually takes forever to get your food at Stoney's. Yeah, the service is slow and sometimes rude and not apologetic for being so. But that's kind of the charm of it! You go there for good beer, football games on the screen, and a great atmosphere. Go there for the environment, not for courteous service.
And Stoney is a great guy -- very charming, and very funny.
- Pros: Environment (both the staff and the other customers), great beer, pretty good food
- Cons: Very slow and sometimes rude service
HORRIBLE experience here

We waited forever (one full hour) for our food and were constantly told it was coming, and then we were told that whoops, our order was never put into the computer but it would be up in about 20 minutes. We had to scarf down our food to be one time for a performance--we had allowed 2 hours which should have been plenty of time. The food was definitely not worth the wait. The British owner is a character and under other circumstances I might have thought he was charming, but he was not very apologetic about this with a "these things happen" attitude. I will never be back there!
Great night out!

What a terrific find! The food is so good! I've eaten there several times now and loved everything I had. It's all fresh ingrediants from family recipies. The owner is British and a real character. The ambience is so comfortable like an actual English pub would be. Something you just don't find alot in PA/DE.
There always seems to be some kind of entertainment, but not so early or loud as to disturb family dining. Like Wed nights there is open mic and lots of talent shows up including comedians, musicians, poets, etc. The food is Zagat rated. Go there hungry even if it's just for a snack with your British ale on tap. Or even one of the Malt whiskeys that they have tasting events for. This place is a great find no matter how you look at it! Go, you'll love it!
- Pros: Great atmosphere, Terrific food, Varied entertainment
- Cons: casual
