THE REAL DEAL. Had dinner last night at our favorite spot. Osso Bucco what a great dish, my second favorite. I love their veal chop the best. The new place is great much more room. We have been going to Stephanos for years we are city people, it is just as good if not better than any place in the city. The service is good, friendly and attentive. Ignore the nay sayers, they dont have any idea what they are talking about. The ignoramus that posted they wont go back, Im pretty sure they dont want you back, I am there at least 2xs a month I have never seen the waiters or waitress be rude. Go all and enjoy the real deal, nothing better locally trust me.…

Not Going Back. The food was wonderful. From now on, I will only get take-out. I will never go back here and have to deal with the horrendous service of that nasty waitress. Their new location is much nicer but the waitress still has not changed at all, still as nasty as ever. If I am going out to dinner with my husband, I EXPECT to have good service along with good food. I won't pass up one, just to have the other. They really need a new waitress if they want to stay in business!…

the best. I read the reviews and laughed at the carded couple...nothing as embarrasing as getting caught trying to drink underage! I have inlaws in Poughkeepsie and everytime I come north I ask to go to this great little restaurant. I've eaten all over the US and I think this is my favorite place by far. They pour you a generous glass of wine, the prices are very conservative and the plates are huge! The service is fast, attentive and not floural...just the way we like it. Please don't listen to the nay sayer who got her shorts in a bunch. This restaurant is top notch and will wow anyone with half a brain.…

No stain on Stephanos please... I feel that I must write a reply to the woman who called my restaurant unpatriotic. I remember you quite clearly, you ordered a bottle of wine you were proofed because it is NEW YORK STATE LAW. You appeared under age NYS law requires that I the license holder obtain legal proof. Your companion gave me his military Id (you did not.)

I asked for a second form of Id because it is NEW YORK STATE LAW to do so. You or your companion did not have any other form of ID. You were declined alcohol. Thats the law. You were abrupt and upset, I sympathized with you, but could not serve you. We are a small business and can not afford to take risks such as serving minors.

Please also let it be known that Stephano's supports our troops not only financially but whole heartedly and is thank-full for all of the sacrifices that they have made for our countries safety and security.…

Un-American. My husband is a Marine and got stationed in New York. We wanted a nice place to go eat for our anniversary, so we went here. My husband made a reservation, but when we got there we were seated at the smallest most inconvenient table. We decided to shrug that off and just enjoy ourselves. So we ordered our meal and a bottle of wine. We were told that we both needed two forms of ID to order the wine. We thought this was odd, but we handed them the IDs, a drivers license and MILITARY ID. After about 10 minutes we were told that out of state IDs and MILITARY IDs could not be accepted. Now that is not only a blatant lie but it is border line unpatriotic. Then we were ignored for our other drink order for a long time. We were so upset that we just left and went to a restaurant a minute away that gladly accepted our IDs. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is ok, but it is over priced and you can get it just as good somewhere else where you will be treated with respect.…
