Swaying palms, tidy rooms and free coffee make this one of the best lodging deals in Kona village.

In Short
Backpackers flock to this three-level, family-owned hotel on the village's main strip. A patio is set back from the street next to a tropical plant-filled garden, a thatched-roof poolside bar and lots of lava rock. Simple rooms feature ceiling fans, lanais, refrigerators and tiny bathrooms separated from the bedroom by a partial wall. Amenities include laundry facilities and Kimo's Family Buffet, an open-air Polynesian restaurant adjacent to the patio.
