Victorian architecture in an ultra-contemporary setting.

The Scene
This resort is built on the site of the former 1910 Tarpon House Inn. Today, it retains some of the original touches, such as sky-colored ceilings, 180-degree-view verandahs and an eight-sided pavilion with a cupola that dates back to the early 20th century. Elsewhere the property is completely contemporary. The hotel and the spa were renovated in 2003, and the spa, for example, features one of the world's 16 BETAR beds--a massage unit that works with sound waves.
The Details
Set on 85 acres, the resort sports six pools, 14 whirlpools, a 13-slip marina, a fishing pier and three restaurants. The 407 accommodations are divided among a hotel, an inn and condominium units. The renovations included new, stylish furnishings and the addition of five penthouse suites. All of the rooms overlook the resort's namesake harbor, and some have views to the mangroves beyond. An 100-foot yacht, the Sanibel Harbour Princess, sets sail on two-hour nightly sunset dinner and Sunday brunch cruises.
Vacation of a Lifetime

My husband and I recently celebrated our honeymoon at this resort and we highly recommend it to everyone. The rooms are all brand new and the Spa was just recently renovated. They have the most amazing treatments, from the Caloosa Experience to Las Piedras Calientes. I cannot think of a better way to rest, relax and just completely unwind!! I am surprised they aren't on your best Spa list. We can't wait for our anniversary, so that we can experience this resort again.
