Place to fit your schedule
Contributor at Insider Pages
Instructors have enthusiasm and innovation that motivates and sometimes entertains - they are attentive to students! I've never worked so hard during aerobics in my life. The staffs exude energy. They have flexible time schedules too to fit to your time. And, while you're butt will drag after a 75-minute class, your metabolism will thank you! This place has got it all to get it to the top.
Despite its Hollywood connections, this franchise's focus is on pumping iron, not newfangled razzle-dazzle.

In Short
The Terminator and the Incredible Hulk (aka Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno) lifted weights at the gym's Venice, California, flagship years ago, but even today, customers frequenting charter locations are bound to encounter serious muscle. Take note: The boys with bulging biceps are the mascots, not the majority. Gold's generally offers Spinning, aerobics and kickboxing classes, yet weight-training remains the core of the program. Dumbbells and barbells, not spa-like amenities, are the attractions that draw the beef-heads in droves.
Needs Improvement

This gym has some new equipment & some rehabbed -- this is beneficial because usually 2-3 machines are broken at a time. The general appearance needs a bit of work (i.e. roof leaks, carpet is shredded, holes in walls, etc.) The staff (not the trainers) are not helpful unless you are young, single & attractive. However, the kid's room has greatly improved over the past 12 yrs. It's cheaper to join here than the YMCA or Kirkwood Fitness.
- Pros: Membership is cheaper than YMCA & Kirkwood Fitness
- Cons: located in very bad section of town & in deserted strip mall
