Roomba (now relocated as Bespoke) has a great nuevo menu with many great combinations. I recommend the pork dishes. The wait staff was very accomidating to food sensitivities. Highly recommend.

In response to 2 of the reviews of this restaurant, I will give some thoughts and opinions. I'm a server/bartender in new haven county, and I will say that around the time of Yale graduation, every restaurant in the area with decent food and chairs gets swamped. I think it's decent and appropriate to tack on a 20% gratuity on that particular weekend. I work at a restaurant in a hotel in the area, and I will say that Yale graduation weekend is infamous among servers as a weekend of little to no tips. Everyone wants the speed of McDonald's with the quality of a 5-star restaurant. Plus, please remember...WAITRESSES ONLY MAKE $5.41 PER HOUR. And that's in Connecticut, the state with one of the highest server minimum wages in the country. Oh, and when they make you wait for a table even though there are open tables in the restaurant? That's because every server has a section of tables, and when the server leaves, they clean their section and then it is closed, in order to avoid having to re-clean it.
Just wanted to shed some much-needed light on things. Thanks! :)

i would not go back there after they raised the prices on graduation. food was fair -- prix fixe menu plus mandatory 20% tip ruined the whole experience
- Pros: Exit is close to the tables

Do not go to Roomba around Yale graduation weekend -- they will try to rip you off by charging a mandatory 20% tip and forcing you to order their prix fixe, which is a sorry excuse for a fixed price menu. In general, the food is sub-par to mediocre. I recommend walking in there at 9:30 -- they will say they're really busy and not seat you for a half hour even though none of the tables are occupied. If they are going to have New York attitude, they might as well serve New York quality food...

I am from Houston, TX. Therefore, I appreciate, enjoy and KNOW good food. However, I had never been able to say that I had a FAVORITE dish. UNTIL,....... one night in November 2004. I had the great pleasure of dining at Roomba. I now have a favorite meal & restaurant. Here it is, almost a year and a half later & I am still crazy about their scrumptious salmon dish. I regret not knowing the actual name of the dish, but just ask for the salmon dish with a fried banana on top. It is a total party in your mouth. Now, I don't want to take away from the fact that EVERYTHING I tried there was fabulous - I had to sample the 3 other meals belonging to the gals with me. FAB-FAB-FABULOUS! Well, I could continue, but I'm trying to narrow this entry down to 150 words.

We love ROOMBA.
My fiance had dinner at Roomba on a Friday night (recommend a reservation). We're fans of Cuban fare and new to the area and thought we'd give Roomba a shot. Between the two of us we spent well over $100 - yes it's that good, and we went back two nights later for more.
Great drinks, awesome apps and out of this world entrees...... and Tres Leches. As if it could get any better - some of the best service we've ever had.
- Pros: Food, Drink, The Wait Staff
