Great location, fantastic food by Kristen R. at InsiderPages

Located at the base of Aspen Mountain, this restaurant has a fantastic environment, with low lighting and italian decor. My personal favorite, the lobster ravioli, is just one example of a delicious italian sophisticated dish served at mezzaluna.

A top 5 restaurant in aspen for sure! The food is always great. The bar has supurb deals on food and beer. The pizza's always look and taste great. The staff is friendly and are pro's. The style of food is simple with great, fresh indgrediants. You can't go wrong here.
Best dish, tie between the ahi with shrimp sausage and salmon with grilled veggies
4.5/5 stars; there is always room for improvment but not much!
- Pros: The bar menu rocks!
- Cons: needs a few new dishes

Began with the cardboard chicken spring roll appetizers. The pizza was fairly good. The thin crust was well cooked. Just could have used a little more flavor. The special pasta of salmon in a garlic cream sauce was flavorless, bland, boring; maybe ate a 1/4 of it. The service was definitely lacking, considering the restaurant wasn't even 30% full. All the tables around us were left completely unbussed for the nearly the entire time we were there. A real class act.
- Pros: Pizza
- Cons: Service
Customers have stars and moons in their eyes at this lovely spot known for wood-fired pizza.

In Short
Salmon-hued marble tints the bar and tabletops, a soft contrast to the ceiling, painted blue with white clouds. Happy hour and dinner hour bring a young, lively crowd to the large, U-shaped bar. The seared ahi tuna is a spicy starter. Wood-fired pizzas are a specialty, with innovative topping combos such as homemade sausage, roasted peppers, mushrooms and herbs; local mushrooms, smoked tomatoes, truffle oil, and mascarpone and mozzarella cheeses.
Can't Go Wrong!

You can't go wrong with Mezzaluna. We had a wonderful dinner there. Two of our group liked it so much they went back for lunch. Fresh tasting ingredients in all the dishes. Delicious bruschetta and pastas. One in our group raved over the tenderloin with gorgonzola. The wine list could use some additions. I noticed the bar was very popular for people waiting (hoping) to get a table, and the drinks are well made. We had reservations on a Monday night and were seated promptly, but the place was packed and walk-ins didn't have a chance. Plan ahead and make reservation.
- Pros: moderately priced, great food, friendly service
