Awesome Food
by kristynelizabeth at Citysearch
The food at Little Annie's is terrific; nothing is pre-made. It is honest home cooked food. My dining experience was the next best to dining at home. I would highly recommend this restuarant to any in the Aspen area.
- Pros: affordable, prompt service, delicious food
When prime rib is a well-done new york steak
by DHfb at Citysearch
I think it is safe to say I've never had a more bizarre experience in a restaurant. I ordered their "acclaimed" prime rib sandwich. When our meals arrived, I received an open face sandwich which appeared to have a piece of well-done top sirloin, maybe a well-done new york steak, but definitely not anything resembling prime rib. After several attempts of trying to catch our already rude waiter's attention, my husband offered to eat the steak and generously gave me his tuna steak sandwich (which was very good BTW). The waiter never did come back by our table to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything until it was well past time for us to get our check. A group of people sat across the restaurant and I overheard one of the woman, upon receiving her prime rib sandwich, state it was the strangest prime rib she ever saw. Someone else at her table also complained about what they were served, so they both appeared to have new dishes brought to them. A new group sat next to us and we overheard them say how good the prime rib was. I should have kept to myself, but didn't, and said that I was very disappointed and that I personally was served a steak sandwich, which would have been fine had it been what I ordered. Suddenly the waiter could actually HEAR us (funny how he couldn't hear us at all in the previous 30 minutes) and proceeded to bring out a LARGE side of prime rib, insisted that he had served me "the other half of it," and then proceeded to YELL at me in front of all the other patrons insisting he had asked us if everything was okay. Two things are true. I was not served prime rib and the waiter never asked us if everything was okay. Two things are untrue: that this restaurant is worth visiting and this waiter should keep his job.
- Pros: Good tuna steak sandwich
- Cons: HORRIBLE service and the worst prime rib sandwich ever made
Burgers get high marks at this old-fashioned favorite that's anything but trendy.

In Short
Annie's is one of the oldest restaurants in Aspen, and one of the locals' favorites. Meals include stuff like steak and mashers, burgers and fries, ribs and slaw. For starters, onion rings are coated in sweet batter. Chili is thick and meaty. Vegetarians will find baked veggie lasagna, spaghetti with meatless sauce and several fish entrees. But the claim to fame is the burger, a half-pound giant, charbroiled and served with fixings.
