Staff is very friendly. Food is fantastic and the drinks are strong. I have gone over 10 times and have had a great experience each time. I am a local.

tourist trap

In our recent stay at Winter Park our group of 16 decided to try Deno's. We had a group of children with us. The children sat at a seperate table. The waitress that served them decided to up sell them from the kids menu and without asking the childrens parents served them from the normal menu instead of the childrens menu. One seven year old girl was served a 14 inch large pizza instead of the pizza of the chidrens menu. All of the other children were also brought adult size portions instead of ordering off the childrens menu. The waitress just did this on her own and did not consult any of the adults in the party.

We spoke with the owner and he was very condescending. He was very rude and told us that in that part of the dining room they do not serve children. We asked then why did they take our reservation and bring childrens menu's. He did not answer. He made scene in his own bar and humiliated a member of our party. At this point they had allready added the 20% tip to our bill and then was not a whole lot we could do about. The food was average and the prices high. The staff was rude, they laughed at us on the way out the door. Overall this was the worst dining experience I have ever had.

Wow! This place is bad!!

For $50 a person (after a soda, tax, and gratuity), I would expect to be treated well and leave happy. The food was cold. When we complained to the staff, they were unwilling to make things right. Big time tourist trap!!

Worst dining experience EVER!

The people here were trying to create an upscale dining experience, but the white paper tablecloths and basketball games on the TVs that were everywhere just didn't do it. There is more to fine dining than over-priced, over-cooked food. The waitstaff was inexperienced and the management was horrifyingly rude. I would not recommend this "restaurant" to anyone! Go get some bar food somewhere else...the quality will be better and you will pay a fourth of the price. To top it all off, the bathrooms were a mess...makes one wonder how clean the kitchen is! Maybe that's why those in the group that had the cod were in the bathroom the entire next day.

Avoid!!! Overpriced bad food

The mediocre food was way overpriced. The service was horrible. The restaurant was dirty. They lead you to believe that the $30 dollar entrees include a salad (and extra $6). You will have a better experience at McDonald's. Avoid.

Summer 08' Great Service!

We chose to eat at Deno's based on the reviews from city search on Sunday July 27, 2008. We wanted to eat outside but it was full at the time. They asked if we could wait a few minutes as they try to search for a table to seat us at. During our wait we went to get a drink at the bar, I was impressed with the great wine list they had and beer on tap. We finally get a table and sit outside and the atmosphere was just wonderful on a great summer night. We had a wonderful waiter very experienced with local knowledge. We had the soup of the day and its been a while since I can get a creative soup like Hungarian mushroom it was yummy, for dinner we ordered the New York Strip steak it came with steamed veggie and mashed potatoes reasonable portion for a person that mountain biked all day at Winter Park Resort. The prices were reasonable for someone on a budget. Highly recommended!

• Pros: Tables outside, Ambience, Service, and Extensive Wine List
• Cons: Bar area did not seem to be air conditioned (but it was summer in the mountains). One more reason to sit outside. :)

Great!

We had a couple great dinners and drinks at Deno's this past weekend. Great atmosphere, experienced staff with local knowledge, and great food! - from burgers to pasta and steak. Highly recommended!

Great service, great food

My husband and I just ate at Deno's tonight, celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. It's been a long time since we've had such great food and great service. We made reservations and told them it was our anniversary. Everyone went out of their way to help us make it a special celebration. The bleu cheese wedge salad was wonderful as was the steak Oscar and fried cheesecake that they served us as a special anniversary treat. Thanks to everyone there for helping us make today extra special for us!!!

Winter Park pub offers something for sports fans as well as those who love rare vintages.

Plenty of TVs decorate this sports pub with a penchant for tuning in everyone's favorite Colorado teams. There is an impressive list of brews and grogs, and always a microbrew of the week. The restaurant side of the operation has a good reputation for steaks, seafood and pasta. Rare for a sports pub, the bar has an extensive vintage wine list which regularly wins awards.
