absolutely horrible restaurant

I went with a party of three to powerhouse to enjoy a nice Saturday night out. The waitress was ok and the drinks were mediocre. I ordered a New York Strip steak and when I first received it, it was way overcooked. I sent the steak back and then received the meat horribly undercooked. At this point, we had finished all of our other food and were ready to go, so I asked that the steak be taken off our bill. It was, we paid, and just as we were fixing to leave the OWNER of powerhouse came to our table. He promptly informed us that he had looked at our steaks and that obviously our definition of how to cook a steak and their definition differs, and the next time we want a steak to please go somewhere else. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had and I strongly recommend that no one visit this establishment.

Always out of items.

The past three times I've been here and ordered fresh raw oysters, I have been told that they were out. The past few visits there has also been this horrible smell of sewer in the dining area. If you want fresh seafood I would recommend going somewhere else. Powerhouse used to be a great place, but it has completely gone down hill. Please don't waste your money.

• Pros: We were seated promptly.
• Cons: Full menu is never available, always out of something, usually oysters.

Good seafood restaurant, building is converted from old electric company, rustic but very nice atmosphere. Recommended.

Great selection of menu items - nice bar area - good variety on wine list - prompt/courteous service - conviently located just off Dickson street - try just sitting at the bar and enjoying the appetizers
