Store employees are OK, but store layout is a mess by Chris (K-2) S. at InsiderPages

I almost feel claustrophobic walking into this store. You walk in and feel like a cow being herded to slaughter. Turn left, then turn right. I understand they are trying to get as much inventory as possible in a small space, but it would be nice to feel like you weren't always in somebody else's way. I should state for the record, that I LOVE BIG LOTS. I love to meander around the aisles of one and see what stuff I can find at a bargain. We hardly ever make the trip to Prattville without stopping at this location and usually we do find something to carry out with us. It would just be nice if the store was laid out a little better and you didn't feel so cramped walking in and around it. The employees are usually helpful and friendly, though once in the furniture dept. we left after waiting a long period of time for help.
From diapers to dinette sets, rock bottom prices make this discount store a paradise for treasure hunters on a budget.

In Short
Since 1985, this Ohio-based retailer has wowed cost-conscious customers with an ever-changing batch of brand-name products. All merchandise is closeout--outdated packaging, canceled orders or discontinued products--and priced to sell at up to 70 percent less than conventional retailers. Peruse the wide aisles of this mega-store for household items, such as frozen foods, cleaning supplies and toys. Some locations also offer furniture, including entertainment centers, desk sets and mattresses.
