Simply delicious! by Andrea S. at InsiderPages

Della Santina's is one of those great restaurants where you feel
like you are at home and love to come back to over and over again! The
food is delicious and well served. The prices are more then reasonable
and the greatest aspect is the warm and friendly atmosphere. It's
clear the owner makes extensive efforts to make you feel like family.
Wonderful ambiance

This is a "feel good" restaurant. You always feel welcome and well taken care of.
In the summer, the outdoors section is filled with customers enjoying the rustic patio. Vines trail up stone walls and fountains splash merrily.
It's a festive atmosphere.
In the cooler months, the indoors is inviting and full of delicious aromas and the happy murmur of contented customers.
The food is always great, but the petrale sole is the best!
(Rachel Ray loved this place too)
- Pros: Great Atmosphere and food

Good italian food in sonoma
by arowe00 at Citysearch
Ate dinner there last week. Very nice courtyard dining, straightforward food, with very good service. Wine list has a nice mix of california and italian choices.
Good food, perfect setting
by cableroadway at Citysearch
Three generations of our reasonably sophisticated, well-traveled family had lunch at Della Santina recently. The coutyard setting was delightful on a hot July day. The welcome was warm but beyond that the service was wretched. Our waiter had an incredibly nasty attitude. After we read the menu (with no lack of delicious choices), we inquired about specials. He heaved a frustrated sigh and brought us a printed sheet with a number of specials. They were not priced. When we asked about the prices, he looked at us with a withering look and asked if we REALLY wanted to know the prices for all the specials. He implied "if you have to ask, you can't afford it"
To avoid further unpleasantness, we just ordered off the menu. Delicious cannelloni, a good but cumbersome vegetarian sandwich, good spaghetti and an dull caesar salad. in the final assessment the lousy service dulled a spectacular setting & a good lunch.
Our best meal in Wine Country and just about anywhere else
by raskinco at Citysearch
After spending a week in wine country this was our favorite resturant. Everything was exceptional from the wine to desert. Had the pasta with Rabbit meat sauce which can only be described as foodgasim. It was absolutley incredible. My girlfreind had gnocci with basil tomato sauce which was excellent as well. Great Italian wines and deserts were incredible. I can't recommend this Della Santina's enough. It is worth the drive from anywhere in wine country. There is lots of great food in the area, but this is at the top of the mountain.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: non
Make a reservation and be prepared to wait for the service.
by usrnla at Citysearch
You need a reservation to get in here on a weekend night for sure, so don't forget. But the food is worth it. The special panzanella salad was the best I've ever had, including in Italy! The ravioli is also a work of art. My husband's duck was a little overcooked but flavorful. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service, on the other hand, was very off the night we were there. Just horrible. It took five tries to get a peppermill to the table for our salad, the wine took forever and even simple things like tap water were a struggle. We opted to sit inside, but on a cooler night I would try the beautiful patio.
- Pros: Ambience, food
- Cons: Horrible service
All around great spot
by strainer1 at Citysearch
I have been eating at Della Santina's for years -- everything from groups on New Year's Eve to romantic Anniversary dinners to casual, relaxed lunches with the kids. On the food front, my favorites are the antipasti, the gnocci al fungi and the cannelloni. Plus all of the deserts. Phenomenal wine list and a staff that is great at pairing the wine with your food order. They also have a great staff who are respectful, but have a good time. This is a "must do" spot right off the heart of the Sonoma square.
- Pros: Food, Wine list, location
Excellent Italian!
by peixe_gato at Citysearch
I can't say enough about this great restaurant. They serve fresh pastas and sauces as well as rotisserie and other traditional Italian dishes. The staff is always friendly and we always feel like family when we eat there. The place gets crowded, so definitely make a reservation. We have tried just about everything on the menu (we dine here regularly) and haven't once been anything less than happy with our choice.
- Pros: Fresh pastas, Friendly staff, outdoor patio
Grab your sunscreen and head to sunny Sonoma for straightforward Italian dining at this popular trattoria.

The Scene
The intimate dining room is appealing in winter, but the garden area is a must for eating outdoors when the weather is warm--enter through a small gate and meander down a narrow brick footpath, to reach an idyllic Tuscan-style garden with a fountain and climbing ivy.
The Food
Full of gentle bustle and Italian opera, this family-run trattoria boasts authentic Italian food prepared from recipes by the owner's grandmother. No fancy surprises here--just well-prepared food in large portions. Begin with the wonderful antipasto plate, minestrone, or Caesar salad. Next, try the daily veal special, the pollo allo spiedo (a succulent roasted chicken), or paparedelle with rabbit sauce. Finsh your meal with a tiramisu as rich and creamy as any you've ever tasted.
not too impressed
by steelroad at Citysearch
i was pleased to find out that they had an outdoor seating area with heat lamps overhead. as for the food, my boyfriend's gnocchi with was wonderful but my ravioli with meat sauce didn't leave much to rave about. the wait staff were polite but they took so long to give us our check i was beginning to wonder what if they remembered us. anyway, overall it was a good experience but unsure if i'll eat there again.
- Pros: ambience
