In Short
Like a small city unto itself, this sprawling outdoor mall located 40 minutes north of L.A. boasts more than 100 name-brand outlet stores, including Barneys New York, BCBG, Banana Republic, Charles David, Coach and Polo Jeans. Inventory can be hit-and-miss. Ann Taylor Loft, BR and BCBG stock plenty of capri pants, stretchy T-shirts, tailored suits and other current styles at prices reduced more than 40 percent.
Hits: Unlike similar outlets that seem to quickly run out of choice merchandise, many of the shops here, such as Banana Republic and Saks Off Fifth, offer in-season items as well as deeply discounted finds.
Misses: If you get here during the afternoon rush, parking can be a stressful ordeal.
My Favorite Outlet Mall
by svantico at Citysearch
I live in Santa Clarita but cheerfully drive the hour to get to the Camarillo outlets. They have a really nice selection of outlet stores and the mall is nicely designed out so you're pretty much walking in a big circle around the vast parking lot.
Favorite stores include Van Heusen, Geoffrey Beane, Bass, Mikasa, Brooks Bros., Ann Taylor and on and on. It's true that in some stores it's hard to tell the difference between regular prices and outlet prices, but at places like Brooks Bros. and Ann Taylor the savings are tremendous. There's a decent food court and restrooms are in a few locations. Always check at the office for discounts.
In the Fall, I drive along Highway 126 between Santa Clarita and the 101; the scenic drive really adds to the overall experience. That drive is always nice, but in Fall you see pumpkin fields along the 101!
Get to the mall early and pick a plum parking spot in a central location. It's nice to be able to dump your goodies in your car as you go rather than dragging them around all day. Great place for Christmas shopping too!
- Pros: Variety of Stores, Great Discounts, Brand Names Galore
- Cons: Crowded Later in Day
Plenty of Good Stores in One Location
by tanikka at Citysearch
Camarillo Outlets have plenty of good stores with great deals all in one stop. It's a must visit spot when you want to get all of your shopping done in one day.
- Pros: Various Stores in One Place
- Cons: Hard to get a parking spot
Hit or Miss
by californiacritic at Citysearch
With any outlet mall, it's always hit or miss. It just depends when you go and if you get lucky. I was there last weekend and didn't find anything. Although the Saks and Barney's had ok inventory. I'm sure it will get better once the sales are over at the retail stores and it's sent to the outlets.
- Pros: Nice outdoor walk

a once in awhile stop
by heavenbee at Citysearch
Every once in awhile im forced to come here when driving on the way to oxnard with family. I dont mind much because sometimes you can find some good deals and there are so many stores to look at. But i wouldnt recommend making a day out of it. You can only look so much! Plus here you mostly find styles that are already going out of style and the prices arent that great. In other words if your driving by.. cool.. but dont go out of your way.
Great Deals on Great Brands
by dioncampsanders at Citysearch
My wife and I stop and shop at the Camarillo Outlets every year on our way to or from Santa Barbara. We always load up on tons of high quality discounted gear from great brand name stores like Polo, Gap, Nike, and Timberland. The best feature about the Outlets is the broad selection and the worst feature is trying to find parking on busy weekend days.
- Pros: All The Best Brands
- Cons: Finding Parking
Many stores, good deals,....

and fantastic parking. This outlet was a surprise the first time I came here. It doesn't look as large when you see it from the highway, but this place is so big that you need to move your car or you'll be exhausted if you walk to all the shops.
There is so much to choose from and I always want to at least window shop every store. It's a bit of a drive from where I live but is well worth planning a day there.
Good and Bad
by taradelis_citysearch at Citysearch
Like any outlet mall, there's a mix of great bargains and complete ripoffs here. And it's not as easy as one might think to find the former. Seriously, it seems like some of the stores (especially Banana Republic) charge more for items at their outlet than they do at their regular stores. And the stuff that is on sale at BR is of very poor quality. However, stores like Ann Taylor and whatever the name of the shoe store is near it, offer much better deals on items of good quality. No matter where you go, it requires a lot of weeding through junk and overpriced merchandise to find the too few and far between treasures.
- Pros: some good finds, discounted prices
- Cons: far away, lots of junk, overpriced items
A pleasant shopping experience

Came here recently, and I was pleasantly surprised at what I found. The outlets carried most of my favorite brands, and I came away leaving with my money's worth.
- Pros: price, variety
