Really BIG, Really Fun,Not Cheap

I went to Killington skiing this january and had a blast. After trying other mountians I found killington to have the best snow due to the sun not hitting it all day. Theres tons of slopes including some great skiing in the woods. The terrain parks are by far THE BEST I"VE EVER SEEN! They have a new natural park with 5 plus jumps and boxes galore. It is a tad bit pricey but, worth the 15 bucks. Don't go skiing if your broke lift tickets run about 75+ and food is expensive. Night life was hard to find but the skiing was to good. Highly recomend for those who are above intermidate and for the new guys, it beats other mnts cuz you can go down easy slopes all day and not see the same stuff.

The Scene
In early season, yahoo fever takes hold and skiing here can be life-threatening. Skip November or go elsewhere. And stay close to friends; split up and never the twain shall meet again, except back at the car--if you can find the parking lot.

The Slopes
Nothing matches Killington for sheer variety. With seven mountains, Killington offers something for everyone. There's a welcome emphasis on top-to-bottom skiing (with a boost to 70 percent snowmaking coverage) for all skill levels and reconfigured trails that offer more old-fashioned, classic New England-style runs. There's also been an effort to make mountain areas less confusing. Boarders have their own user-friendly play areas, including a super pipe. Killington has what it calls "fusion zones" for three areas of tree fun. Novice or expert, you can spend a week and just scrape the surface.

Not all its cracked up to be....

My husband and I have never skiied out East prior to our recent trip to Killington, VT. We purchased a multi-day pass and when we got there we were told that the days were to be used consecutively. We purchasd a 5 day pass. Also, the ski/snow conditions were less than par. Perhaps if we had gone in March our tale would be different. As said by others, food here is very expensive and it also, it is very easy to get lost or on the 'wrong' trail as they are not marked very well. While we enjoyed our trip to Killington, we will not be returning any time in the near future. We are going to stick with skiing out West and/or in Europe. As a side note, if you have not skiied in Switzerland.....do so. Grindenwald is the bomb!

Killington is the pits

If you are a real skiier this resort is not for you, however if your into an overly large resort that caters mainly to inexperience skiiers and riders on vacation. This is not an area for hard core or better than average skiiers or riders, you will be frustrated by long lines, crappy service and inexperienced skiiers carving in front of you.

Killington=<3

I went with my school's ski club. It was probably one of the best time's of my life. Whether you're a beginner, Intermediate, or expert you can find the right slope for you. Skiiers and snowboarders alike are friendly, as are the people who work there. I HIGHLY recommend the new england clam clowda, in a bread bowl, it's heaven. But, be warned! The 'Juggernut' is a crossing between mts. for XC skiers, not downhill (big oops for us). This, my friends and I didn't know. It took for-ev-er to get back. Food a bit pricey, but worth it. Never a dull moment, enjoyed every second I was out on the perfect snowy sloples. If you have trouble finding your way around the mountain, the Great Eastern is a great trail stay on. =) -Go, you won't know why you hadn't made the trip earlier.

My Family Loved it!!

We have gone to Killington in early December & February. The snow was great. We have 3 children, 2 of them half day school and skiing on thier own my little one did half day of ski school. ALL the employees could not be MORE helpful guiding you to the correct areas and security for the kids was great. As for the prices they were no more or less than the other ski areas around. There are alot of places to choose from to eat from big $ to everyday pizza $. Never had a problem with parking and they have shuttles running all the time. Overall great time.

Some good Some bad

K-Town is one of the more pricy mountians in the east, but it can provide value. With all the available deals (passes from $349), very few should pay full price. Trails tend to get crowded on weekends, but lift lines move fast. The dawn of the "bad-ass" free riders and free skiers has bred an influx of individuals who clearly do not know or care about the rules of the trials - be ware. Best skiing is always found early in the a.m. before bar hoppers wake up. Big plus: I have never seen another mountian turn rainy, icy, sloppy trails into skialbe terrain faster. My advice: pick up and all-for-one pass or ME ticket to save on cash. Ski early and stay home on the most crowded days of the year. Find someone who KNOWS the mountian and your experience will be much better (lots of hidden sweet spots).

• Cons: , Busy weekends, navigating the mtn.

Mostly Lame

Like to travel between peaks, in icy/windy conditions? If so then Killington is your place to ski. You spend most of your time travelling between peaks on this mountain. I could not find one terrain park on this mountain (what was labeled a terrain park was not jumps but had patches of grass coming up through the snow). They said they had a half-pipe but it was closed. Easy slopes on this mountain make for decent blue skiing (even if labeled black). The Waffle Haus' are cool (they should get em at every resort). I recommend to friends only if they are already on the East coast and want to ski.

• Cons: Too Much Travel., Windy/Icy., Lame Terrain Parks.

This Beast Will Eat you & Spit you Out

If you like crowds, lousy food, unhappy employees and the possibility of never seeing your family or car again, plus you want to have all of you money sucked out of your pocket, then Killington is the place for you! This place is aptly named the "Beast of the East", and that is the first time Killington has been honest about anything.

• Cons: crowds, over priced, trails intersect
