Wonderful Place
by annbenavente at Citysearch
Kyoto is a beautiful Japanese restaurant, you probably wouldn't think so, while strolling through that part of Tacoma. The entrance has a little bridge and there are even fish in the pond! The food has always been wonderful, and if you come in a group you get to sit in a little room, that has rice paper doors. My friends and I always go there when were in Tacoma and I would highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys Japanese food and culture :)
- Pros: Beautiful Atmospehere, Prompt Seating

and have rarely been disappointed. Our favorites include the sake-, toro-, ama ebi-, anagi- and kani nigirizushi; uni, massago, and ikura gunkan; shrimp tempura roll; california roll with massago; age dash tofu; warm, salted edamame with cold sake; agari (green tea with brown rice); gyoza; and beef yakisoba. The interior design is beautiful and the staff is gracious and accomodating. Upon entering the front door, one walks across a small bridge overlooking a small, classical koi pond. Better sashimi can perhaps be found elsewhere, but this restaurant remains our favorite.
- Pros: food, owners & sushi chef, interior
