Don't Do It - Inn of 6 Mtns /
by Leapfrogging
The website shows great pictures - and New Life Hiking Spa is part of the facility and it appears you'll have a fantastic and affordable time.
Take the words "RUN DOWN" and apply to every single apsect of your stay - including the staff (who were sparse). I should have turned right around after not being able to take a deep breath in the lobby - the entire hotel smelled like they dumped containers of carpet fresh to hide the smell or to make it appear clean. Service seemed last thought of the staff - who seemed to have walked in off the street in dirty t-shirts, jeans and bored attitudes.
I checked into a room with filth - cracked sinks, rickety dirty furniture, old / faded / dingy sheets covred lounge chairs. Windows, screens and window sills were hazy with dirt. Closet doors were broken. Filthy sheets, beadspreads & shams - even to the touch! Bathroom towels must have been at least 10 years old - dingy gray, thin, rough. My shoes stuck to the floors of the bathroom - and the toilet ran for about an hour after flushing! The last thing I wanted to do was use the toilet or walk barefoot on the carpet. Moved into a new room with same issues - plus a mattress that had a big ole dip in the middle. Looking out the window of the rooms proved disappointing as well - all kinds of tools, pipes and yellow insulation spongy stuff (that was disgusting looking as well) were strewn about. Took a shower and stepped into slime and mold.
Figured maybe I could deal with it - since most of my time would be spent outside. BUT, dinner proved a challenge I didn't want to experience another 6 days in a row. Great looking food, but absolutely COLD.
After 1 night, I turned around and came home. I'm still itching, I'm not kidding!
I'm all for casual - which this place was, but clean and professional for >$140/night (or even $75/night!!)isn't too much to ask. And, Spa? Far, far from it. Don't waste your time.
- Pros: The drive thru VT to get there
- Cons: Unfit for guests - and I'm still itching from only 1night in that shack.
Great views and cozy rooms located in the middle of all the action.

The Scene
Centrally located just a mile down the road from the base area of Killington and in the heart of the town's activity, Inn of the Six Mountains provides tired skiers and snowboarders with a great spot to relax without paying through the roof for four-star amenities.
The Details
Comprised of 104 rooms, choose from modest doubles with or without a deck to larger suites with full kitchenettes. And what would a mountain inn be without a hot tub? There are both indoor and outdoor hot tubs and heated swimming pools. Services include shuttles to and from the mountain, massage therapy, sleigh rides and a conference center. The inn has two restaurants: The Sugar House Cafe serves a buffet breakfast every morning and dinner each night. There's also a smaller pub located next to the cafe that offers appetizers, entrees and drinks.
