I also had a very bad time at Cheddars and I emailed a review and It was not put on the review site nor did I get any response. Last night we ate at Cheddars and had great food and a great server, her name was Sabal. I think our problem can be solved by paying our waiters minimum wages, and the tip would be a bonus. And lets dont for get the management, they need to remember we all need a job why cant we all get a long do our jobs done for the day and go home feeling good about the day . Thats what it should be about.

The last two reviews are from disgruntled employees . This Cheddar's is #1 in the nation in sales for a reason. they hold people accountable for doing a good job.

I used to work at the cheddars in beaumont. The bad service can be attributed to servers being in a bad mood after being screamed at by the tactless owner and his sister. They are the most pathetic pessimistic pair I have ever seen. They spend all of their energy looking for things to gripe about. They complain about customers. They make inappropriate comments. They refuse to see customers who are having a problem. They have absolutely no people skills at all. The reason it takes so long to be seated and to get your food is because servers wait in line FOREVER at the ridiculously slow computers. Out of all the restaraunts I have worked at their computer system is the worst and they refuse to fix it because they think it only affects servers tips. I quit because I was tired of working for people with no manageral skills. I would not recommend eating at this restaurant.
BAD EXPERIENCES by L U. at InsiderPages

I used to work at Cheddars, and while I loved the food and the money was great, the management and ownership was horrible. There are certain people that have taken over recently and managed to run the restaraunt into the ground and they have been given full reign. The owner is a condescending prick who micromanages, his sister (a manager) thinks she is in high school and gangs up with 19 year old girls on certain people to try to find reasons to fire them. The wait staff is treated poorly as well as bartenders hosts and to go people. They refuse to acknowledge their mistakes and rectify them with customers. They have managed to fire or demote every decent manager waiter or bartender for no real reason. If you put it a two weeks notice, they will try to find a way to fire you before you can complete it. They make no attempt to hide favoritism among the staff. Sexual harrassment is prevalent by some of the night cooks. The entire experience has made me hate food service. General low class ownership.

During our visit to cheddars we where treated poorly from the start it took 1 hr to be seated . 15 min to see a waiter. 20 min after that to get drinks 1 hr to get food and the table next to us came 30 min after us and got there food 20 min before us. called the manager out she got irate and started yelling at my wife and the waiter came up behind my wife yelling at her. the only reason things didnt get ugly was because of my grandkids. we wont be going back.
Cheddars in Beaumont, Texas VERY unkind to special needs kids by Aaron S. at InsiderPages

My wife was part of a group that brought about 12 special needs kids (autistic, mental retardation, etc.) to the Cheddars restaurant in Beaumont, Texas. She witnessed some of the wait staff mimicking the kids, making noises and motions as if they were retarded, and laughing about it. The service was poor, the food came at different times, it was a bad experience altogether. Johnny Carino's and Joe's Crab Shack are only a few feet further down the road, and the food's better.
Management Does Not Reflect Family Restaurant Theme by Stacy M. at InsiderPages

The managers at Cheddars are not management material. One of the owner's sister has a very bad attitude and is not professional. She has no management, leadership, customer service skills and certainly not aware of cultural diversity and how to treat customers. I had the most horrible dining experience at this Cheddars this past weekend. I love Cheddars but after this past weekend I don't think I can say the same. This manager used profanity and shouted at customers and never apologized. Cheddars need to remove her from her position before she causes them to lose customers and eventually enter a law suit with her lack of management skills.
COLD FOOD- BAD SERVICE-WRONG ORDERS by JOE K. at InsiderPages

I went to Cheddars at the HIGHLANDS, DALLES PIKE,NEAR WHEELING WV. Ive gone EVERYDAY since they opened over 3 weeks ago. Food is ALWAYS good, but i've seen a lot of mistakes in the past 2 weeks. With my order, i also ordered onion rings, When the food came, the fries AND onion rings were COLD,, After tracking the waitress down she put in another order of onion rings,, afer 20 minutes, i knew what was going to happen, they were cold also, One day i ordered the grilled chicken sandwich + fries,, after the order came, the waitress forgot to give me some silverwear to eat with. I waited a few minutes, when she didnt come back, i told 2 other servers that i didnt get any silverewear, and could they please get me some. They said sure,, never happened, i waited 8 minutes after my food got there, to finally get some silverwear.. Naturally the food was COLD. Guess what? It happened AGAIN, Thursday, sept .6.. NO SILVERWEAR AGAIN,, I told the manager about it,, guess what,? I never even got a IM SORRY ,, he didnt apologise, could have cared less. When I DID get silverwear, it had food on them, wasnt washed right, happened twice, happened again today, sunday 9/9,,, its a shame service is so bad, the food is great..but after awhile, it kinda puts a sour taste in your mouth about the service. I heard a lot of horror stories about the service, not the food. Three times they got my order wrong..Seems everyday i go there, i KNOW something will be wrong, and it usually is.. I wrote corporate about this, 5 days ago,, They never got back with me,,, figures.. all i can say is,,, the food is really good, but service is usually bad.. Sorry to bad mouth such a nice restaurant, its the service that will kill that place, not the food. Today i waited 1 hr, 44 minutes from when walked in till i got my food. When you wait that long, it would be nice to have good service and CLEAN

Cheddar's has a varied menu that includes something for everyone. I have never had a bad meal here. The service can be slow at times but since it is always so busy this is to be expected. There is plenty of parking; if a space cannot be found in their lot, one can be found in the next lot. If you are looking for a quiet romantice dinner this is not the place to go. The noise level can get fairly high.
- Pros: food, value
- Cons: noise, service
Disaster by sue p. at InsiderPages

The food is great, if you can wait up to two hours to be seated, and, if you have a waiter who is not so overworked and short tempered. People were turned away in droves, which goes to say they need a restaurant twice the size it is. it is a shame a place with such good food has people wait so long. I would gladly pay 50 dollars up front to get a reservation ahead of time. Our family will not be going back there. We would like to, but it turns into a disaster, people are so tired of the wait.
PROS: Great food, nice acquarium.
CONS: One to two hour wait, not enough places to sit while you wait, and overwork
