You guys make the best salsa out of any other Mexican food restaurant! The free sopaipillas are a nice bonus too ;)

I like going to this restaurant when I visit Tyler. I like going to this restaurant when I visit Tyler. The service is good and the staff is very friendly and warm. To top it all, the food is very delicious. What wonderful freshly made flour tortillas. Try the fajitas and the NY steak. Both are tender and yummy.

Best tortillas!. When visiting family as a teenager I loved the tortillas at this spot - so upon visiting over 15 years later, I had to go back. The tortillas were wonderful, warm & chewy. I ordered lunch steak fajitas, which had very good quality meat. The salsa was just OK and the top-shelf margarita was great. It was not cheap - $50 for 2 for lunch - but it was worth it!

The food is loaded with MSG and extra salt.. Anyone who needs to avoid salt should avoid this restaurant. Mercado should have a dish called the Heart Attack Special. The beans, the rice, the ribs, the meat, the chicken, the fish, the avocado, everything is way to salty. MSG causes the hair cells in the middle ear to collapse which leads to ear ringing.

Always Busy. There is always a wait to be seated, even at midafternoon. I think that is planned to give the illusion of being very popular because I often see table with no one sitting a them. The food isn't bad at all but it is way overpriced. I guess they don't realize that I buy groceries and cook sometimes. I know the cost of beans and tortillas!

Worth Trying. Mercado Mexico has good food but there is nothing exceptional qabout it. The prices are a little high for the area and for Mexican food in general. It is a very popular place to eat and there is always a wait around noon and the dinner hour.
