Not so much. It's ok. This is an old hotel that was once nice but is outside the inner loop and not really really downtown. The service is young and not very professional (all of the signed reservation cards were left on the desk during a girl's break; two front desk people chatted with each other while one was checking us in. Again, no big deal - just not professional.) Room smelled of old linens. window unit a/c and heat. Noisy clientele. Just eh. If I have to drive into town, I'd rather stay at the new airport hotels. Oh yeah - my husband and I had trouble sleeping from breathing troubles. Wouldn't surprise me as musty as the room seemed.

If I could give this place a negative rating, I really would have and I feel bad for saying this because they had a few really good employees that tried their best to make our stay a good one...Where do I start about this hotel?!?!
I am highly allergic to mold and mildew which my room as well as the rest of the hotel had PLENTY of. I would turn on the A/C to get rid of the musty smell and I would wake up with my throat closing, barely able to breathe and puffy eyes, I got very sick because of this and now have laryngitis, there were no rooms to switch me to. The tub did not drain, the wall paper was peeling from the bottom of the wall under the sink. I could hear every word that anyone was saying in the room next to me. The walls were paper thin. There were ceiling tiles in the conference areas that looked like they were about to fall from water damage, the tiles next to any vents were BLACK and there were huge cobwebs that were visible in the main meeting area. The outside of the hotel looked horribly un kept. The front desk staff was rude 90% of the time, especially with shuttle information.
The phone in my room that had the internet hook up did not work and someone had to come up to fix it. There was no Ethernet cable in my room as there was supposed to be. I was charged for internet service when I was not supposed to be.
My overall stay was horrible and I would never recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.
Really Outdated. I almost felt bad for the people who work here. I went to a meeting here last week and what a sad place. It seems like nothing had changed since the sixties. Old country music decor. Sorry, but that's really out of style. Nashville is Music City USA, but there's so much more than what this hotel's showing. If a hotel's going to brag about our city, which it should, show the new stuff. New Music, New Fashion, New Style! Nashville's not barefoot and pregnant. We're a progressive and smart city, and our hotels should reflect that.
Dirty rooms, overpriced. I would not have anything negative to say about this hotel if the rooms were priced in the $69-$89 range. Unfortunately, rooms at this hotel are at least $139/night, and it is simply overpriced. The rate includes nothing - no breakfast, no coffee in the lobby in the mornings. There is some really bad, smallish coffee makers in the rooms that make 1 minature cup of coffee at a time, but that's it. Internet access is not free anywhere in the hotel. I found the room to be dirty and poorly furnished. The chairs had stains on them, the carpet had cigarette burns and stains, the down comforters had stains (I HOPE it was mustard), the room featured hair from previous occupants in all areas - the bathroom and the bedroom. I found someone else's dirty washrag in the shower when I went to get in the first morning. Maybe I'm too picky, but I expect clean at $139/night and you might get a lot of other bonus features at other hotel chains.

Nothing worked and they did'nt honor their offer. We asked for a king bed. We got twins. The air conditioner did'nt work. The hallway smelled like a skunk had died. The ice machine did'nt work on our floor, so we had to go two floors down for one that did. Other customers were complaining while I was checking out. Overall, a lousy experience in what was supposed to be a decent hotel. STAY AWAY from this hotel. Stay a at cheap dive instead. It'll will save you money and you'll get a better value.
Good To The Last Drop?. The Maxwell House has improved over the past year. They have renovated thier rooms and are a good lcoaiton for business travelers visiting the metro center area. The new sports bar is a nice place to catch a game while catching up, and the restaurant is decent although it does not always have great service.
