Great bakery, questionable service. I find Alpha Bakery's baked goods to be excellent, and although I've never tried the sandwiches they look great. The only complaint I have about this little bakery is the service-and I am hoping it was just a fluke. I stopped in this morning after running an emergency errand to get a snack--I ran out of the house so fast, I threw on a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt to keep the september morning at bay. SO perhaps I was a little "under-dressed" for the woman behind the counter at Alpha Bakery, who refused to look at me the entire time she dealt with my order, and after I took the time to count out the change she turned to her co-worker without a word to me (not even "Thanks" or "Have a nice day") and announced loudly "You have to check all the twenties, too, to make sure they aren't counterfeit. The banks sometimes hand them out and they don't know."

So I forgot my Gucci portefeuille and my Versace sunshades. Does that mean I'm going to try to use a counterfeit $20? I didn't attempt to last month when I forked over $51 for a mediocre cheesecake and an excellent baklava tray for my mother's wedding. Could she not have waited to discuss the issue with the employee until AFTER I had left? A smile goes a long way...

It's a great bakery, just BEWARE the fashion police beind the counter (and I don't think it was the owners!).

Delicious bakery items keep crowds coming back, despite sterile atmosphere and so-so service.. In Short
Gorgeous pastries on display liven up the standard decor. Artisanal breads are deliciously on the mark. Assortment of buttery croissants, apple Danish and cream cheese claws are perfect for a decadent weekend brunch party. Chicken salad with red grapes on chewy country bread is one of the best choices for sandwiches. Fancy tarts and cakes are always sure to impress.

Excellent-- editor's review is off-mark. When doing my list of pros & cons about whether or not to move from Bellevue, I actually had to consider distance from Alpha Bakery as a con...

Mr. & Mrs. Chen's little bakery is a treasure. It's not your average collection of ho-hum cake covered in sweetened lard... this is art baking, European-style, by way of Asia. The pastries aren't as sweet as the cloying stuff you'll get at WalMart, and everything's real, fresh and delicious. The Asian delicacies are fantastic, especially the "curry pan" and "an pan." And as for the bread... oh lord...

Do yourself a favor. Drive west and visit Alpha Bakery. Go now.

Wow!! Yummy..!!!. Oh my God..!! The 'egg salad on dinner roll' is soooo yummy!! I tried it for the first time and I bought more after that.. The cake is sooo delicious.. I love 'Strawberry & whipped cream' the most.. I have tried different bakeries before but Alpha Bakery is really the best so far..! The cons are it's quite far from Downtown/West End area and it doesn't have delivery service.. Other than that, I seriously recommend this bakery.

Best Bakery in Town!!. Alpha Bakery is a great family run business! The food is good and they make everything from scratch. It's a little over priced, but you get your moneys worth. It is also in a good loction, for people to see a movie and have a good snack after.

editorial review is ridiculous. I am a college student in Nashville and I love the alpha bakery. It has a nice quaint feel to it and it is also very affordable. I go in for snacks between breaks in my class schedule. The editorial review made it sound like a dark horrible place, but it is actually well lit and cute. It is not a commercial bakery. It is a family owned bakery. The editor must not be familiar with nice homely simplicity that is not overly priced or prepacked. There are freshly baked croissants, tarts, cakes, french horns, baklava (how do you spell that anyway?), and so much more. You just go in and choose from the display. The atmosphere and the people are sweet. Realistically sweet. They don't go out of their way to kiss your behind. I hope mindy tries Alpha again with an open mind and a less snooty attitude.

One and Only. I drive 30 minutes just to buy some pieces of cake. As Alpha Bakery has a variety of baked goods and all look fabulous and taste good, I can't decide what to have! I am sure that Alpha Bakery takes up the style of a bakery in Japan, which offers the best cake in the world. Well, tiramisu is my favorite, and if you haven't tried it yet, you should! It's fabulous.

Yummy!!!. If you're in the mood for a great fresh sandwich or skipping lunch and going straight to the dessert, this is the bakery for you. The bread is awesome and very fresh and tasty. The brownies are light and chocolately. The have everything from crossaints to pies. The prices are very reasonable. We just moved here and have been back five or six times already. They are conveniently located in the Bellvue area. A-Plus review.
