Suntrust has horrible customer service. 6 months without response. They took money from my accounts, would not call back and when I would talk to people to ask who my rep was, they didn't know. Go elsewhere if you want good banking.

Sun Trust Employees Bunch of Salespeople in Disguise. I'll keep this short. Never go to a Suntrust Bank local branch and tell them you'd like to open a savings account to put some upcoming inheritance funds into. I tried to open a savings account at two separate branches on Nolensville Road today and before I knew it, at both branches they were "salivating" to get me to speak with their investment advisor. I told them once I have all my inheritance money in my savings account, I'll be transferring 90% into an investment firm. They told me I should put part of it into one of their annuities. I spoke with an IRS representative on the phone later about a tax issue. He told me the bank would probably take my money in an annuity and pool it with money from other sources and invest it into hedge funds for big profits while paying me very little. I agreed.

My advice is to never mention you are receiving any inheritance or any other substantial funds to deposit into any account at any bank or they will pressure you to speak with their "investment advisor", all probably so they can get some commission or kickback. I think even the tellers and everyone are all instructed to direct anyone they think will be depositing significant funds over to their "investment advisors". They can smell it like bloodhounds. I had this experience at two separate Nolensville Road branches in Nashville, Tennessee today. They're all out to get sales, commissions, and kickbacks from their financial products..even down to their Tellers. It's irritating to me; I just want to use a bank to keep money in safely, if even that's possible anymore. I just don't trust banks to invest my money and banks don't have anything that pays anything unless you hold it for years.

My best advice is to jump on the learning curve and learn how to make your own investments. I think most brokers/financial advisors will recommend products based on the financial benefits THEY may gain instead of working for the client. I think that the minds of brokers/analysts dictate that any gains, regardless of how small, for the client are sufficient to console their consciences.

Investing yourself may be the best way to go.....and be careful about saying what and how much you are going to stash in your bank accounts, especially in a bank! I learned that today. They're not your friends. They're there to make money off you.

SUN TRUST BANK. I CALLED ABOUT A ISSUE RELATED TO MY CHECK CARD THAT WAS MAKING MY WIFE CRAZY. THE BANK REP THAT I TALKED TO "RACHEL" WAS A MASTER OF REPAIR. SHE FOUND THE PROBLEM TOLD ME SHE WOULD CALL BACK. SHE CALLED ME IN LESS THAN 3 MIN. AND RESOLVED THE ISSUE. THANKS RACHEL FOR YOUR HELP!

No Deposit. I've moved from another area of the country and I can tell you that banking is a different experience there. This location is convenient and easily accessible, but I felt like I was visiting the Twilight Zone. Obviously, these are sales people pushing bank products. I will give credit for the product selection. Lots to choose from. The Branch Manager was a giggling, disheveled goofball. Wash her hair, take her shopping and send her "back to the hills". Um, I think I'll go elsewhere.
