What People Are Saying About Hotel Preston

In Short – A unique alternative to typical Nashville hotels, this upscale gem offers a slew of quirky perks: goldfish in guest rooms, a pillow menu and lava lamps. Other amenities include wireless Internet, luxurious linens, laundry services and complimentary parking and shuttle services. It's situated near the Nashville airport, Opryland and downtown, making it convenient to shopping, sports, restaurants and theatres.
Editor's Tips
- Parking:
- The lot is free for hotel and restaurant guests.
- The Extras:
- Take your pet along and book their Furry Friend Pet Package, which includes walks, treats and (naturally) a personal water bowl.
Disappointed :(

I planned a surprise overnight stay for my husband's birthday in January 2012. The website looked fun, and I purchased the Valentine's Special to add to our special evening.
Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty place and has a neat vibe when you first walk in. However, overall I was pretty disappointed in our experience for the amount I paid. The flower petals were fake (which I could have purchased myself) and the candles were cheap-looking and battery operated. Upon arriving in our room, we opened a cabinet to find three empty condom boxes.
Ew.
Needless to say we inspected the rest of the room for "ickies" but it was fairly clean otherwise. But I couldn't help but feel a little gross sleeping on that bed afterwards. ha! And whoever said that the hotel is "worlds away" from the airport is a little off...we found the nearby runway very distracting. We ordered a room service breakfast, which was great. Lots of food and tasted great.
We won't use Hotel Preston again, simply because I don't fee you are getting what you pay for. It's a fun concept, though!
Loved the food ar the restaurant

My husband and I stayed at this hotel before our flight to Chicago. The capreses salad was better at this hotel than any we had in Chicago! And the whole meal was the same. Chef Danny came out to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The hotel could improve on the comfort of the beds but other than that it was a nice stay.
Terrible Stay

We could not get a hot shower, our phones were not working so we could not call down to tell them what was going on. Had to get dressed to let them know. We also had disgusting towels. I expected a much nicer hotel. Maybe it was nice at one time but not anymore. I would not stay here again and would advise others to stay at another hotel.
- Pros: none
- Cons: cold shower, dirty towels
Horrible Hotel Experience
by SHsmith
I found Hotel Preston on the internet and liked the rate and that it was close to everything. It smelled like smoke! The pool had about 5 lounge chairs and it was located about 100 feet from a bad neighborhood. My car was even vandalized in their parking lot. I will never stay there again and advise anyone even thinking of it to pay an extra 50 bucks for a nicer hotel, it will be worth it.
- Pros: Close to Mall
- Cons: Also close to the slums
The worst experience I've had in a long time!

We stayed there for a Photography workshop since that is where the workshop was. When we arrived, we checked in and were taken to our room. On the walk from the elevator to our room, we heard several LOUD dogs barking. It seemed every door we walked by had a bark. We went down to ask to be moved to another floor and on our way ran into several others who had already asked to move. We were told we had to come down to the front desk to move! Went down there, and while we were waiting to get room assignment changed, the girl answers the phone and spends 10 minutes with another guest describing wines (shouldn't his call be sent to room services to answer??) So finally after standing there for 10 minutes, we finally get our room key. They don't even offer to move our bags! We had to - we originally tipped a bellboy to take our luggage to our room!
So then while in the morning workshop a ceiling tile falls on someone - I kid you not!
Tried to have dinner and they forgot our order! We finally had to hunt someone down and got our food after waiting over an hour! They still didn't wait on us after that! We never got our dessert and finally just walked out! Another couple left after waiting for someone to take their order - they had been there over 30 minutes!
All of the hotel staff was slovenly dressed - especially the front desk manager and all were very inexperienced! I will be telling the workshop coordinator of my experience, I know several others who were just as upset. The look of the hotel is very unique. It's just a shame that they don't have any management that can train the employees to do their jobs properly! I will not stay here again! I come to Nashville often and if the service was up to par - would have liked to stay here again. As it is, I don't think that will happen...Go somewhere else if you want to enjoy your stay!
- Pros: artsy look
- Cons: service terrible!
