Hotels >Hotel Preston
They really are the best in the area. Their rooms are affordable and surprisingly cheap. I love the services that come with the rent as well.
I planned a surprise overnight stay for my husband's birthday in January 2012. The website looked fun, and I purchased the Valentine's Special to add to our special evening.
Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty place and has a neat vibe when you first walk in. However, overall I was pretty disappointed in our experience for the amount I paid. The flower petals were fake (which I could have purchased myself) and the candles were cheap-looking and battery operated. Upon arriving in our room, we opened a cabinet to find three empty condom boxes.
Needless to say we inspected the rest of the room for "ickies" but it was fairly clean otherwise. But I couldn't help but feel a little gross sleeping on that bed afterwards. ha! And whoever said that the hotel is "worlds away" from the airport is a little off...we found the nearby runway very distracting. We ordered a room service breakfast, which was great. Lots of food and tasted great.
We won't use Hotel Preston again, simply because I don't fee you are getting what you pay for. It's a fun concept, though!
Loved the food ar the restaurant. My husband and I stayed at this hotel before our flight to Chicago. The capreses salad was better at this hotel than any we had in Chicago! And the whole meal was the same. Chef Danny came out to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The hotel could improve on the comfort of the beds but other than that it was a nice stay.
Terrible Stay. We could not get a hot shower, our phones were not working so we could not call down to tell them what was going on. Had to get dressed to let them know. We also had disgusting towels. I expected a much nicer hotel. Maybe it was nice at one time but not anymore. I would not stay here again and would advise others to stay at another hotel.
Horrible Hotel Experience. I found Hotel Preston on the internet and liked the rate and that it was close to everything. It smelled like smoke! The pool had about 5 lounge chairs and it was located about 100 feet from a bad neighborhood. My car was even vandalized in their parking lot. I will never stay there again and advise anyone even thinking of it to pay an extra 50 bucks for a nicer hotel, it will be worth it.
The worst experience I've had in a long time!.
We stayed there for a Photography workshop since that is where the workshop was. When we arrived, we checked in and were taken to our room. On the walk from the elevator to our room, we heard several LOUD dogs barking. It seemed every door we walked by had a bark. We went down to ask to be moved to another floor and on our way ran into several others who had already asked to move. We were told we had to come down to the front desk to move! Went down there, and while we were waiting to get room assignment changed, the girl answers the phone and spends 10 minutes with another guest describing wines (shouldn't his call be sent to room services to answer??) So finally after standing there for 10 minutes, we finally get our room key. They don't even offer to move our bags! We had to - we originally tipped a bellboy to take our luggage to our room!
So then while in the morning workshop a ceiling tile falls on someone - I kid you not!
Tried to have dinner and they forgot our order! We finally had to hunt someone down and got our food after waiting over an hour! They still didn't wait on us after that! We never got our dessert and finally just walked out! Another couple left after waiting for someone to take their order - they had been there over 30 minutes!
All of the hotel staff was slovenly dressed - especially the front desk manager and all were very inexperienced! I will be telling the workshop coordinator of my experience, I know several others who were just as upset. The look of the hotel is very unique. It's just a shame that they don't have any management that can train the employees to do their jobs properly! I will not stay here again! I come to Nashville often and if the service was up to par - would have liked to stay here again. As it is, I don't think that will happen...Go somewhere else if you want to enjoy your stay!
Beautiful, stylish, clean, and comfortable. This place has gone through a transformation over the past year sometime because I didn't even recognize this place when I checked in. I like all of the changes, especially the artwork around the lobby area and the lounge and restaurant have a really nice feel to them. The rooms are as big as ever. I really like the extras they bring to you if you request them--like the specialty pillows, a fish, lava lamp or a board game etc. Very clean establishment and well maintained. Large pool that is very well kept--maybe the best I've seen. My only complaint would be the smallish bathtub. Overall, a great value.
Renovations are a pain.... Unfortunately, my husband and I chose this hotel to stay in the night of our wedding. It's close to the airport, offers a free shuttle, and held my dress for me until my maid of honor could pick it up the next day. We thought it might be a decent choice since they have the "Oooey Gooey Package" for honeymooners, and we didn't want to spend a ton of money since we were on our way to a fabulous honeymoon in Belize. Sadly, the hotel was really torn up from renovations. The water faucet wasn't working properly, and the phone was really bad. We asked for a wake-up call at 6 a.m., and the wake-up call called us 5 times. Everytime it called, it was an automated system and it was overlapping with another phone line. We could hear someone talking on the phone as well as the wake-up call. We finally just unplugged the phone. We were pretty aggrivated with our whole experience there. The only good thing we can say is the bed was comfortable and the "Ooey Gooey Package" came with Godiva chocolates, wine, and a funny little Kama Sutra box we got a good laugh out of. I wouldn't exactly recommend this hotel to anyone...
Very trendy, modern hotel. My girlfriend and I decided to spend a night away from the house and chose this hotel based on the modern pictures provided. Based on the pictures, the hotel looked a lot different than most - in a good way. We were a little skeptical based on its location since Briley Pkwy has always been mess in the past years. We loved everything about this hotel. The staff was very courtious. Everything from the lobby to the halls and room were very modern and trendy. The room was very stylish. It was your average size room, but decorated very nice. We especially like the fact that we needed a room key to operate the elevator, and on that note, the elevator was our favorite ever!! We requested a room away from the elevator on our floor, and that is exactly what we received - at the end of the hall. We loved the layout of the floor our room was on. It wasn't just a straight hallway that kids could run up and down. The layout definitely was a plus as it helps reduce the amount of noise with people entering and exiting their rooms and getting off the elevator - this has always been a negative for us with other hotels. I highly recommend this hotel.
Best airport hotel ever!. My boyfriend and I like to fly out of Nashville to save money, so we needed a place to crash the night before our flight. We saw the hotel from the interstate and decided to give it a try. The girls at the front desk were so welcoming, and they told us about this package where we can leave our car at their hotel for only $5 a night to avoid paying the crazy parking prices at the airport. They even have a free shuttle to and from the airport! The room was awesome! They have Aveda bath products, so now I don't have to carry my own with me when I go to Nashville. We love going out in Nashville, so the awesome girl at the front desk called us a cab and told us about some fun places to have some drinks on a Monday night. It only took about 10 minutes to get to the Broadway area. We slept great, our wake up call was on time, and the shuttle driver was standing next to the van ready to take us to the airport in the morning. We liked it so much, we almost stayed another night at the Preston when we flew back into town. Too bad we had to go back to work...We definitely found a new favorite place to stay at the Hotel Preston!!!
